DEFENDER 1999 MY
110 Station Wagon
Feed from the battery positive terminal is connected to fuse 6 and fuse 7 of the
engine compartment fuse box (C0632-1) by a brown wire. Fuse 6 (C0574-2)
supplies a feed to the alarm ECU (C0057-8) on a purple/brown wire. Fuse 7
(C0574-1) supplies a feed to the front (C0355-3) and rear (C0356-3) interior
lamps on a purple/brown then purple wires.
The front interior lamp has an integral switch. With this switch in the normal
(central) position, the lamp is earthed (C0355-1) via the alarm ECU (C0061-1)
on a purple/white wire. The alarm ECU will only supply the lamp with an earth
path if any of the doors, or the tail door are opened.
The Alarm ECU (C0061-5) is connected to the drivers door switch (C0054-1)
by a slate/white wire. The front passenger door switch (C0033-1), the LH rear
door switch (C0112-1), the RH rear door switch (C0111-1) and the tail door
switch (C0615-1) are wired in parallel and are connected to the alarm ECU
(C0061-16) by purple/blue wires.
If the internal switch is moved to the forward ’ON’ position, the feed from fuse 7
flows across the interior lamp (C0355-3 & C1210-1) directly to earth on a black
wire. Moving the switch to the rear ’OFF’ position, breaks the circuit to prevent
the lamp from illuminating when any of the doors are opened.
The rear interior lamp is wired in parallel with the front interior lamp and works
on exactly the same principal.
