Removal and Installation 

Removal 

CAUTION: Make sure that the ignition key is removed. 

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. Torque: 

22 Nm

the A
pillar 
exterior 
trim 
panel 
lower 
clips.

2. Torque: 

10 Nm

Installation

1. Detach the clips. 
2. Torque: 7 Nm 
4. Torque: 2 Nm

CAUTION: Only rotate the crankshaft 

clockwise. 
NOTE: Make sure that the sensor housing is clean 
and free of foreign material. 
NOTE: Make sure that a new component is 
installed. 

1. Rotate the engine until the back of one of the 

three webs of the camshaft pulley is in line with 
the CMP sensor hole in the timing belt cover back 
plate. 

2. Install the CMP sensor until the tip of the sensor 

touches the back of the camshaft pulley. 

 

 

  

2. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
