Removal and Installation 

Removal 

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details. 

1. Remove the following items: 

1. Remove the right-hand headlamp 

assembly. 

Refer to: Headlamp Assembly (417-01 
Exterior Lighting, Removal and 
Installation). 

2. Remove the accessory drive belt. 

Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt (303-05B 
Accessory Drive - 2.5L Duratec-ST (VI5), 
Removal and Installation). 

2. Lower the vehicle. 

3. Position the power steering fluid reservoir to one 

side. 

4.

CAUTION: Make sure that all openings 

are sealed. 

Torque: 

23 Nm 

5. Raise and support the vehicle. 

Refer to: Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, 
Description and Operation).

7. Position the air conditioning (A/C) compressor to 

one side. 

  

  

  

Installation 

Torque: 

25 Nm 

8.   

1. Torque: 25 Nm 
3. Torque: 25 Nm

CAUTION: Make sure that all openings 

are sealed. 

1. Torque: 25 Nm 

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. 

2. Fill the power steering system.

3. Bleed the power steering system. 

Refer to: Power Steering System Bleeding (211-
00 Steering System - General Information,

Installation 

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

3. Remove the accessory drive belt.

CAUTION: Make sure that all openings

2. Torque: 23 Nm 

5. Torque: 25 Nm 

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. 

2. Fill the power steering system.
