Children under 4 years of age and

10-18/Kg weight should sit in a child

safety seat in rear seat.

Ÿ

Children of 4-12 years of age or

18-36Kg weight should sit on

heightened cushion in rear seats. The

adjustable assistant safety belts are

able to insure the diagonal safety

belts leading across shoulder

appropriately.   The heightened

sitting position is able to insure adult

safety belts leading cross the center

of shoulder (not neck), and the waist

belts should be tight with hips (not

stomachs).

The limit of sitting:   each

safety seat is only for one

child.

Comply with traffic

regulations, never allows

children sit in the front passenger seat.

Starting the Engine

Before Starting Your Car

Engine starting is controlled by the engine
electronic system. Before and during
engine starting,do not press the accelerator
pedal.See “Starting the engine” of this
Chapter for reference.

Leaving the vehicle

unattended with the engine running too

long might overheat the exhaust system

and increase a risk of fire and other

damages.

Do not drive, park or run the engine

at locations covered with dry hay etc.

Exhaust system will increase the

temperature of engine  compartment

and exhaust pipe and might ignite the

dry stuff.

Do not run the engine in

enclosed garage or other enclosed

spaces. The exhaust gases contain

toxic gas. Always open the garage

door before starting the engine. Please

see “Caution: exhaust emissions”

section of this chapter for reference.

If there are any exhaust

odor within the vehicle, stop driving

and contact Cherry Special Service

Center for a inspection promptly.

Safety Notes

Engine idling speed is controlled by the
engine computer system. Higher speeds at
start-up are normal and the speed should
decrease as the engine warms
up. If engine speed does not decrease,
service is required. Prevent the engine
from running at a speed higher than
specified for more than 10 minutes.

Before Starting the Engine:

1.Make sure all passengers are fastened

with safety belts. See the Chapter “Seats

and Safety Protection Equipment” for

reference on safety belts and their usage.

2.Make sure the headlamp and other

electronic accessories are off.

3.You should make sure to engage the

parking brake.

4.For auto-shift models, make sure the

shift gear lever is in P (parking) position.

Only when the shift gear lever is in P or N

(“neutral”) position will the engine start.

Your car is equipped with additional gear

locking system. It takes effect when shift

gear lever is in P position. After the engine

is started, depress the foot brake pedal and

push the gear lock button,gearchanging

lever can move.

5.For manual-shift models, put

manual-shift gear lever in neutral position.

6.Turn the ignition key to “On”, instead of

“START”.

If the ignition key is hard to turn,you can

shake the steering wheel right and left

slightly,until the key can be turned freely.It

might be one of the following causes:

Front wheels has been turned.

Ÿ

Front wheels are against the curb.

Ÿ

Steering wheel has been turned while

getting on/off the vehicle.

7.Before turning the ignition key on, make

sure that the warning light on instrument

panel is flashing, otherwise have it

checked by Cherry Special Service Centre.

If the safety belt is not fastened the

warning light won’t flash before the

ignition key is turned.

Starting the Engine

1.Turn the ignition key to “Start” without

pressing the accelerator pedal. Release the

key and turn it to “II” as soon as the

engine is started.

2.If the engine can not be started within 5

seconds for the first attempt and the

temperature is higher than minus 12

Centigrade, turn the ignition key back to

“OFF” position and for try it again after 10

seconds.

3.If the engine can not be started within 15

seconds for the first attempt and the

temperature is lower than minus 12

Centigrade, turn the ignition key back to

“OFF” position and try it again after 10

seconds. If engine fail to be started for the

first two attempts, press the accelerator

pedal all the way down while turning the

key to START position. After the engine

starts, release the key. Release the

accelerator pedal slowly along with the

engine speeding up.

4.For auto-shift models, let the engine

idling for a few seconds after the engine

starts, depress the foot brake pedal, release

the hand brake, shift to driving gear. Now

it’s ready for you to drive the car.

Before shifting to driving

gear please engage the parking

brake or press on the foot brake

pedal. Otherwise the car might be

rolling.

5.For manual-shift models, let the engine

idling for a few seconds after the engine

starts, depress the clutch pedal all the way

down, shift to driving gear,release the

hand brake. Now it’s ready for you to

drive the car.

Caution on Exhaust
Emission

The exhaust gases are odorless and

colorless, but they contain carbon

monoxide. Measures have to be taken

against it.

If there are any exhaust

odor within the vehicle, contact

Cherry Special Service Center for

inspection promptly, instead of

continue to drive the car. Exhaust

gases are toxic and increase an

extreme health risk

Under following circumstances exhaust

and ventilation system should be
