Chery A15 Maintenance Manual
Headlight circuit analysis:
Lighting switch power supplies power for lighting switch from No. 30 wire to
terminal of lighting switch 30 via red & blue wire. The lighting switch is of 5-throw
3-shift, which means it has five small switches and three shifts, namely OFF shift,
Dimmer shift and Headlight shift:
When switch is in the position of OFF, the headlight and dimmer are not
lightened.
When switch is in the position of dimmer shift, the current (from No. 30 wire to
lighting switch 30# terminal) supplies power to terminal 58, terminal 58R, terminal
58L simultaneously via switch, of which, terminal 58 transfers current to fog light
relay, license light with all
switches
lit up concurrently; terminal 58R transfers current
to rear left tail lamp, rear left stop lamp; while terminal 58L transfers current to rear
right tail lamp, rear right stop lamp.
Headlight shift:
When ignition switch is ON, and switch is in Shift III, current of power source FS5
enters headlight switch via headlight switch terminal 7 and outputs to terminal 56,
which supplies power to dimmer switch terminal 56 via headlight switch terminal 56
and controls lighting relay low beam
contact pull-in
through dimmer switch terminal
56b entering lighting relay terminal 1, wire 30# power reaches left low beam and right
low beam light via the pull-in contact, when dimmer switch shifts to left position,
current reaches lighting relay right coil to enable right contact pull-in of the lighting
relay, when wire 30# power reaches left high beam and right high beam lights via the
contact pull-in, that is high beam shift. When headlight switch is on headlight shift, all
lights operating with dimmer shift are all lit up.
Headlight troubleshooting:
1. Headlight without low beam
When ignition switch is ON, check headlight switch terminal 7 to see if there is
power source 12 - 14V;
if there is no power source or low voltage, check power
circuit to see if power source is normal
.
Slide headlight switch to Shift III, check if there is 12 - 14V power output from
headlight switch terminal, if no, replace headlight switch; if yes, and dimmer switch is
on low beam shift, check if there is 12 - 14V power output from dimmer switch
terminal 56b, if there is no normal voltage, replace dimmer switch; if voltage is
normal, test lighting relay left contact pull-in, if no, check relay ground; if ground is
normal, replace lighting relay; if relay is operating normally, check if the circuit from
relay to right and left dipped headlight is normal, if the circuit is normal, the result is
bulb damage, in which case replacement is necessary.
