Check for accessories:
Check for electronic aftermarket
accessories mounted near the GPS

antenna or the navigation unit

Are there any electronic

accessories?

Disable the accessories and
recheck.

Perform the System Links check
under picture diagnosis (see

).

• Check that nothing is blocking

the GPS antenna located under
the package shelf.

•Recheck where nothing can

block the GPS satellite signal.

Repair as indicated by the System

Audio driving instructions cannot be heard

Check the audio driving instruc-
tions set up:

1. Push the display unit MENU

key, and select "set-up".

2. Check the audio driving

instruction volume setting.

Is it set to OFF?

YES

NO

Set the volume to an audible
level.

Check for a short to body ground
in the RG circuit:

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

2. Disconnect the navigation

unit connector B (16P) and
audio unit connector C (12P).

3. Check for continuity between

body ground and navigation
unit connector B (16P) terminal
No. 9 and No. 10 individually.

Is there continuity?

There is a short to body ground
between the audio unit and the
navigation unit. Replace the
affected shielded harness.

YES

NO

Check for an open in the RG L+
circuit:
Check for continuity between the

navigation unit connector B (16P)

terminal No. 9 and the audio unit
connector C (12P) terminal No. 4.

Is there continuity?

NO

There is an open between the
audio unit and the navigation
unit. Replace the affected shielded
harness.

YES

Check for a short to body ground
in the MUTE circuit:

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

2. Disconnect the navigation

unit connector B (16P) and
audio unit connector C (12P).

3. Check for continuity between

body ground and navigation
unit connector B (16P) terminal
No. 3.

Is there continuity?

NO

Check for continuity between the
navigation unit connector A (12P)
terminal No. 8 and the audio unit

Is there continuity?

Repair short to body ground in

the wire between the navigation

unit, the audio unit and the
amplifier unit.

YES

Check for a short to body ground
in the AMP SW +B circuit:

1. Disconnect the navigation

unit connector A (12P), the
audio unit connector A (16P)
and the amplifier unit connec-

tor B (12P).

2. Check for continuity between

the navigation unit connector
A (12P) terminal No. 8 and

body ground.

Is there continuity?

There is an open between the

audio unit and the navigation
unit. Replace the affected shielded
harness.

Check for an open in the GND RG
circuit:
Check for continuity between the
navigation unit connector B (16P)
terminal No. 10 and audio unit
connector C (12P) terminal No. 10.

Repair open in the wire between

the navigation unit and the

audio unit.

Is there continuity?

YES

Check for an open in the MUTE
circuit:
Check for continuity between the

navigation unit connector B (16P)

terminal No. 3 and the audio unit
