NOTICE

The average fuel economy is not dis

played for more accurate calculation if
the vehicle does not drive more than 10
seconds or 0.03 mi (50 m) since the
ignition switch or ENGINE

Instant Fuel Economy (2)

• This mode displays the instant fuel

economy during the last few seconds
when the vehicle speed is more than
10 km/h (6.2 mph).

- Fuel economy range:

0.0 ~ 30 km/L, L/100 km or 0.0 ~
50.0 mpg

information

mode

This display shows the accumulated trip
distance, the average fuel efficiency, and
the total driving time.

• Accumulated information is calculated

after the vehicle has run for more than
300 m (0.19 miles).

• If you press "OK" button for more than 1

second after the Cumulative Infor

mation is displayed, the information
will be reset.

• If the engine is running, even when

the vehicle is not in motion, the infor

mation will be accumulated.

Drive Info display

This display shows the trip distance, the
average fuel efficiency, and the total
driving time information once per one
ignition cycle.

• Fuel efficiency is calculated after the

vehicle has run for more than 300 m
(0.19 miles).

• The information will automatically reset

when the driver's door is opened after
the ignition is turned off, or
approximately 3 minutes have passed
after the ignition is turned off.

• If the engine is running, even when

the vehicle is not in motion, the infor

mation will be accumulated.

Information since refueling

This display shows the trip distance, the
average fuel efficiency, and the instant
fuel efficiency (or the total driving time)
since refueling.

Digital speedometer

This digital speedometer display shows
the speed of the vehicle.

Service mode

This mode reminds you of scheduled
maintenance information.

Service Interval

It calculates and displays when you need
a scheduled maintenance service (mile

age or days).

If the remaining mileage or time reaches
1,500 km (900 miles) or 30 days, "Ser

vice interval" message is displayed for
several seconds each time you set the
ignition switch or ENGINE START/STOP
Button to the ON position.

Service required

If you do not have your vehicle serviced
according to the already inputted ser

vice interval, "Service required" message
is displayed for several seconds each
time you set the ignition switch or
ENGINE START/STOP Button to the
ON position.

To reset the service interval to the mile

age and days you inputted before:
• Select 'Vehicle settings →

Service Interval

→ Reset'.

NOTICE

If any of the following conditions occurs,
the mileage and days may be incorrect.
• The battery cable is disconnected.
• The battery is discharged.

• This warning is displayed indicating

which door, the hood, the liftgate or
the sunroof is open.

Low pressure warning display

This warning message is displayed if the
tire pressure is low. The corresponding
tire on the vehicle will be illuminated.

This indicator displays which exterior
light is selected using the lighting con

trol.

Low washer fluid

This warning message is displayed if the
washer fluid level in the reservoir is nearly
empty.

Have the washer fluid reservoir refilled.

Icy road warning

This warning is to warn the driver the
road may be icy.

When the following conditions occur, the
warning light (including outside tem

perature gauge) blinks 5 times and then
illuminates, and also warning chime
sounds once.
• The temperature on the outside tem

perature gauge is below approxi

mately 4

°C (40 °F).

NOTICE

If the icy road warning appears while
driving, you should drive more atten

tively and safely refraining from over-
speeding, rapid acceleration, sudden
braking or sharp turning, etc.

Engine overheated

• This warning message illuminates

when the engine coolant temperature
is above 120

°C (248 °F). This means

that the engine is overheated and may
be damaged.

*If your vehicle is overheated, refer to "If

the engine overheats" on page 6-7.

Low engine oil

• This warning message appears when

the engine oil level is insufficient.

• Refill the engine oil.
For more details, refer to "Engine oil and
filter" on page 7-13.

W ARNING

When the engine oil level warning light
appears, it is necessary to check
whether maintenance schedule (Engine
oil replacement) in owner's manual has
been followed before replenishing the oil,
and if not followed, the engine oil must
be replaced first.

Engine oil change due soon.
Reset oil life after oil change

• This warning message appears when

the remaining engine oil life reaches
5% or below.

• Replace engine oil from an authorized

pressing the button repeatedly with

out depressing the brake pedal.

• It means that you should depress the

brake pedal to start the engine.

Battery discharging due to exter

nal electrical devices

The vehicle can detect self-discharge of
the battery due to over-current that is
generated by unauthorized electrical
devices such as dashboard camera
(dash cam) mounting during parking.

If the warning continues even after
external electrical devices are removed,
have your vehicle inspected by an
authorized Kia dealer.

Press START button again (for
smart key system)

• This warning message illuminates if

you can not operate the ENGINE
START/STOP Button when there is
a problem with the ENGINE START/
STOP Button system.

• It means that you could start the

engine by pressing the ENGINE
START/STOP button once
more.

• If the warning illuminates each time

you press the ENGINE START/STOP
Button, have the vehicle inspected by
an authorized Kia dealer.

Press START button with key (for
smart key system)

• This warning message illuminates if

you press the ENGINE
START/STOP

Button while the warning message
"Key not detected" is illuminating.

• At this time, the immobilizer indicator

light blinks.

Check BCW system (if equipped)

This warning message is displayed if
there is a problem with Blind spot Colli

sion Warning. In this case, have the vehi

cle inspected by an authorized Kia
dealer.

Headlights are Off

This warning message illuminates if the
headlights are off when the surrounding
is dark.

This warning light illuminates:

• Once you set the ignition switch or

ENGINE START/STOP Button to
the ON position.

- It illuminates for approximately 3

seconds

- It remains on if the parking brake is

applied.

• When the parking brake is applied.
• When the brake fluid level in the res

ervoir is low.

- If the warning light illuminates with

the parking brake released, it indi

cates the brake fluid level in reser

voir is low.

If the brake fluid level in the res

ervoir is low:

1. Drive carefully to the nearest safe

location and stop your vehicle.

2. With the engine stopped, check the

brake fluid level immediately and add
fluid as required (For more details,
refer to "Brake fluid" on page 7-15).
Then check all brake components for
fluid leaks. If any leak on the brake
system is still found, the warning light
remains on, or the brakes do not
operate properly, do not drive the
vehicle.

In this case, have your vehicle towed
to an authorized Kia dealer and
inspected.

Dual-diagonal braking system

Your vehicle is equipped with dual-diag

onal braking systems. This means you
still have braking on two wheels even if
one of the dual systems should fail.

This warning light illuminates:
• Once you set the ignition switch or

- It illuminates for approximately 3 ~ 6

seconds and then goes off.

• When there is a malfunction with the

SRS. In this case, have the vehicle
inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

Seat belt warning light

This warning light informs the driver
that the seat belt is not fas

tened.

ing, more than normal pedal travel and
greater pedal pressure is required to stop
the vehicle.

Also, the vehicle will not stop in as short
a distance with only a portion of the
brake system working.

If the brakes fail while you are driving,
shift to a lower gear for additional
engine braking and stop the vehicle as
soon as it is safe to do so.

NOTICE

Parking brake & brake fluid warning
light

Driving the vehicle with a warning light
ON is dangerous. If the Parking Brake &
Brake Fluid Warning Light illuminates
with the parking brake released, it indi

cates that the brake fluid level is low.

In this case, have your vehicle inspected
by an authorized Kia dealer.

Anti-lock brake system (ABS)

This warning light illuminates:

• Once you set the ignition switch or

brake system will not work normally and

dangerous situation during sudden

This warning light illuminates:

the ON position.

• When there is a malfunction with

either the alternator or electrical
charging system.

If there is a malfunction with either
the alternator or electrical charging
system:

1. Drive carefully to the nearest safe

location and stop your vehicle.

2. Turn the engine off and check the

alternator drive belt for looseness or
breakage.

In this case, have the vehicle
inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)

This warning light illuminates:

• When you set the ignition switch or

the ENGINE START/STOP button
to the ON position.

- The malfunction indicator light illu

minates for about 3 seconds and
then goes off.

• Whenever there is a malfunction with

either the emission control system or
the engine or the vehicle powertrain.

ited. If such condition continues
repeatedly, the Malfunction Indicator

If the oil pressure lowers due to insuffi

cient engine oil, etc., the engine oil pres

sure warning light turns on and an
enhanced engine protection system that
limits the engine's power is activated.
After that, engine warning light turns on if
driving repeatedly and continuously.

CAUTION

If the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)
illuminates, potential catalytic converter
damage is possible which could result in
loss of engine power. In this case, have
the vehicle inspected by an authorized
Kia dealer.

Engine oil pressure warning light

This warning light illuminates:

• Once you set the ignition switch or

ENGINE START/STOP Button to
the ON position.

- It remains on until the engine is

started.

• When the engine oil pressure is low.

If the engine pressure is low:

• Drive carefully to the nearest safe

location and stop your vehicle.

• Turn the engine off and check the

engine oil level (For more details, refer
to "Engine oil and filter" on page 7-
13“). If the level is low, add oil as
required.

• If the warning light remains on after

adding oil or if oil is not available, have
the vehicle inspected by an authorized
Kia dealer. Continued driv

ing with the warning light on may
cause engine failure.

NOTICE

• When engine oil pressure decreases

due to insufficient engine oil, etc., the
Engine Oil Pressure warning light will
illuminate.

• The enhanced engine protection sys

tem which limits engine power will be
activated. If the engine oil pressure is
restored, the Engine Oil Pressure
warning light and the enhanced
engine protection system will turn off.

• When the engine oil pressure is

restored, the warning light and the
enhanced engine protection system
will turn off after the engine is
restarted.

CAUTION

Engine overheating
Do not continue driving with the engine
overheated. Otherwise, the engine may
be damaged.

CAUTION

Engine damage
If the engine is not stopped immediately
after the engine oil pressure warning light
illuminates and stays on while the engine
is running, serious engine dam

age may

result.

Exhaust system (GPF) warning

light (Gasoline Engine)

This warning light illuminates:

• When there is a malfunction with Gas

oline Particulate Filter (GPF) system.

• When this warning light illuminates, it

may turn off after driving the vehicle:

- The vehicle should be driven for

more than 30 minutes at a speed of
80 km/h (50 mph) and faster.

- Ensure the following conditions are

all met: safe road conditions, trans

mission 3rd gear or above, and
engine speed of 1,500 - 4,000 rpm.

If this warning light blinks in spite of the
procedure (at this time the LCD warning
message will be displayed), have the
GPF system checked by a professional
workshop. Kia recommends to visit an
authorized Kia dealer/ service partner.

CAUTION

Gasoline engine with GPF (if
equipped)

If you continue to drive with the GPF
warning light blinking for a long time,
the GPF system can be damaged
and fuel consumption can worsen.

Low fuel level warning light

This warning light illuminates:

When the fuel tank is nearly empty.

If the fuel tank is nearly empty:

Add fuel as soon as possible.

CAUTION

Low fuel level
Driving with the Low Fuel Level warning
light on or with the fuel level below "E"
can cause the engine to misfire and
damage the catalytic converter.

Master warning light

This indicator light illuminates:

• This warning light informs the driver

the following situations

- LED headlamp malfunction (if

equipped)

- Lamp malfunction
- High Beam Assist malfunction (if

equipped)

To identify the details of the warning
look at the LCD display.

If the warning situation is solved, the
master warning light will turn off.

Low tire pressure warning light

This warning light illuminates:

• Once you set the ignition switch or

ENGINE START/STOP button to
the ON position.

- It illuminates for approximately 3

seconds and then goes off.

• When one or more of your tires are

significantly under inflated. (The loca

tion of the underinflated tires are dis

played on the LCD display).

Safe stopping
• The TPMS cannot alert you about

severe and sudden tire damage
caused by external factors.

• If you notice any vehicle instability,

immediately take your foot off the
accelerator pedal, apply the brakes
gradually with light force, and slowly
move to a safe position off the road.

This indicator light illuminates:

• When there is a malfunction with For

ward Collision-Avoidance Assist.

In this case, have the vehicle inspected

Icy road warning light

equipped)

This warning light is to warn the driver
the road may be icy. When the tempera

ture on the outside temperature gauge
is approximately below 4

°C(39 °F) the

Icy road warning light and outside tem

perature gauge blinks and then illumi

nates. Also, the warning chime sounds 1
time.

All Wheel Drive (AW D) warning

light

(if equipped)

This warning light illuminates:

• Once you set the ignition switch or

system by pressing the ESC OFF
button.

Auto stop indicator light

This indicator will illuminate when the
engine enters the Idle Stop mode of ISG
(Idle Stop and Go) system.

When the automatic starting occurs, the
auto stop indicator on the cluster will
blink for 5 seconds.

Go (ISG) system" on page 5-54.

NOTICE

When the engine automatically starts by
ISG system, some warning lights (ABS,
ESC, ESC OFF, EPS or Parking brake
warning light) may turn on for a few sec

onds. This happens because of the low
battery voltage. It does not mean the
system is malfunctioning.

AUTO HOLD indicator light
(AUTO HOLD) (if equipped)

This indicator light illuminates:

• When there is a malfunction with the

immobilizer system.

In this case, have the vehicle
inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

Immobilizer indicator light (with
smart key)

This indicator light illuminates for up
to 30 seconds:

• When the vehicle detects the smart

key in the vehicle properly while the
ENGINE START/STOP button is
ACC or ON.

- At this time, you can start the

engine.

- The indicator light goes off after

starting the engine.

This indicator light blinks for a
few seconds:

The Head-Up Display is a transparent
display that projects an image of certain
information from the instrument cluster
and navigation system on the windshield
glass.

• The head-up display image on the

HUD screen may be invisible when:

- Sitting posture is bad.

- Wearing a polarized sunglasses.
- There is an object on the cover of

the head-up display.

- Driving on a wet road.
- An inadequate lighting is turned on

inside the vehicle.

- Any light comes from the outside.
- Wearing an inadequate glasses to

your eyesight.

• If the head-up display image is not

shown well, adjust the height, rotation
or illumination of the head up display in
the LCD display.

• When the Head-Up Display needs

inspection or repair, have your vehicle
inspected or repaired by an autho

rized Kia dealer.

Head-Up Display

• Make sure the front windshield glass

does not have window tint or other
types of metallic coating. Otherwise,

self-diagnosis function that can deter

working properly. After starting the
engine, a beep will sound when the gear
is shifted to R (Reverse) to indicate the
function is operating normally.

However, if one or more of the following
occurs, first check whether the ultra

sonic sensor is damaged or whether the
function is in a non-operating condition. If
it still does not work properly, have your
vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia
dealer.

NOTICE

• Reverse Parking Distance Warning is

a supplemental function. The opera

tion of the function can be affected by
several factors (including environ

mental conditions). It is the responsi

bility of the driver to always check the
front and rear views before and while
parking.

• Always look around your vehicle to

make sure there are no objects or
obstacles before moving the vehicle in
any direction to prevent a collision.

• Your new vehicle warranty does not

cover any accidents or damage to the
vehicle or injuries to its occupants

• Warning Volume: You can adjust the

Warning Volume from level 0 to 3.
However, even if '0' or 'Off' is selected,
the function's Warning Volume will not
turn off but the volume will sound as '1'
or 'Low'.
