Remove the lock-up relay valve, spring and plunger
from the sleeve.

Remove the retainer with a magnetic finger by pushing
in the plug.

Remove the plug, secondary regulator valve and spring.

INSPECTION AND REPAIR

Inspect strainer

Inspect strainer for residual adhesive and damage, and
clean and replace as necessary.

Inspect valve springs

Check for damage, squareness, rust and distorted coils.
Measure the spring free height and replace if less than
that down below.

or 23.3 mm (0.917 in)

(3) 3 – 4 shift valve

30.8 mm (1.213 in)

(5) Lock-up relay valve

21.4 mm (0.843 in)

(6) Secondary regulator valve

30.9 mm (1.217 in)

(7) Cut-back valve

21.8 mm (0.858 in)

(8) 2 – 3 shift valve

30.8 mm (1.213 in)

(9) Low coast modulator valve 30.4 mm (1.197 in)
