ENGINE HOOD / DOOR  –  ACCESS DOOR

DISASSEMBLY

HINT:

Use the same procedure for both RH and LH sides.

The procedure described below is for the RH side.

1.

DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY 
TERMINAL

2.

REMOVE ACCESS PANEL REAR WEATHERSTRIP
(a) Remove the access panel rear weatherstrip.

3.

REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER
(a) Disengage the 3 claws and remove the lap belt 

outer anchor cover.

4.

REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-
ASSEMBLY
(a) Insert a clip remover between the handle and door 

trim.

(b) Turn the handle with the clip remover inserted, as 

shown in the illustration.

(c) Remove the rear door inside handle and snap ring.

5.

REMOVE NO. 1 CUP HOLDER
(a) Remove the screw and the No. 1 cup holder.

6.

REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-
ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the bolt and separate the front seat belt 

outer (floor side).

(b) Disengage the 9 clips and remove the rear door trim 

panel.

7.

REMOVE NO. 1 DOOR TRIM BRACKET
(a) Remove the 2 screws and remove the No. 1 door 

trim bracket.

8.

REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH
(a) Remove the clip.
(b) Remove the 2 screws.

(c) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the center pillar 

upper garnish.

11. REMOVE ACCESS PANEL INSIDE HANDLE SUB-

ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the rod.
(b) Remove the 3 bolts, then remove the access panel 

inside handle.

12. REMOVE ACCESS PANEL UPPER LOCK ASSEMBLY

ASSEMBLY (See page

14. REMOVE ACCESS PANEL LOCK REMOTE 

CONTROL ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the rod and connector clamp.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts, then remove the access panel 

lock remote control.

15. REMOVE ACCESS PANEL LOCK CANCEL LEVER 

ASSEMBLY
(a) Using "Torx" socket wrench T30, remove the 2 

screws and remove the access panel lock cancel 
lever.

16. REMOVE FRONT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (See

17. REMOVE ACCESS PANEL LOCK STRIKER PLATE 

ASSEMBLY
(a) Using "Torx" socket wrench T40, remove the 2 

screws and access panel lock striker plate.

18. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER

(a) Remove the rear door service hole cover.

NOTICE:
Remove any tape remaining on the door side.

19. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM

(a) Remove the rear door opening trim.

20. REMOVE ACCESS PANEL CHECK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and 2 nuts, then remove the 

access panel check.
NOTICE:
Do not drop or damage the access panel check 
when removing the bolt and nuts.
HINT:
Remove the access panel check through the 
service hole.

21. REMOVE ACCESS PANEL WEATHERSTRIP

(a) Disengage the 6 clips.
