1. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (VEHICLE NOT INVOLVED IN COLLISION)

3. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (VEHICLE INVOLVED IN COLLISION AND

REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:

After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the

battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice

before proceeding with work

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent

airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected

3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 

4. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE REAR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

5. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

6. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE END PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

7. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET 

8. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

9. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX 

10. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the holder (with connectors).

(b) Remove the 3 bolts and airbag sensor.

INSTALLATION; 2015 MY Tundra [08/2014 -        ]

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the ignition switch is OFF.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the battery negative (-) terminal.

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent

airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

(c) Install the airbag sensor with the 3 bolts.

Torque:

18 N·m {184 kgf·cm, 13ft·lbf}

NOTICE:

If the center airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case,
bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
When installing the center airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts
and that it is not pinched between other parts.

5. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE END PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

6. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

7. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE REAR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

8. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY 

9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
