Air Intake Duct

INTAKE (INDUCTION)

4. Air Intake Duct

A: REMOVAL

Remove the clip which secures the air intake duct,

and remove the air intake duct.

B: INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal.

C: INSPECTION

1) Check that the air intake duct has no deforma-

tion, cracks or other damages.

2) Inspect that no foreign objects are mixed in the

air intake duct.

5. Intake Duct

A: REMOVAL

1) Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

2) Remove the intake manifold. <Ref. to FU(STI)-

17, REMOVAL, Intake Manifold.>

3) Remove  the  sensor,  engine  harness  and  fuel

pipe from the intake manifold. <Ref. to FU(STI)-25,

DISASSEMBLY, Intake Manifold.>

4) Remove the intake duct from intake manifold.

5) Remove  the  PCV  hose  assembly  and  air  by-

pass hose from the intake duct.

B: INSTALLATION

Install in the reverse order of removal.
Tightening torque:

17 N·m (1.7 kgf-m, 12.5 ft-lb)

C: INSPECTION

Check  that  the  intake  duct  has  no  deformation,

cracks or other damages.

Intercooler

INTAKE (INDUCTION)

6. Intercooler

A: REMOVAL

1) Remove the bolts holding the PCV pipe to the in-

tercooler.

2) Loosen the clamp (A) holding the intake duct to

the turbocharger.

3) Loosen the clamp (B) holding the air duct hose

to the intercooler.

4) Remove  the  bolts  (C)  securing  the  air  by-pass

valve to the intercooler, and disconnect the air by-

pass valve.

5) Remove the bolts which secure the intercooler to

the intercooler stay, and remove the intercooler.

6) Remove the air duct hose from the throttle body.

7) Remove clip (A) holding the engine harness to

the intercooler stay RH, and remove the intercooler

stay RH.

Intercooler

INTAKE (INDUCTION)

8) Remove the intercooler stay LH.

B: INSTALLATION

1) Install the intercooler stay LH.
Tightening torque:

16 N·m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)

2) Install the intercooler stay RH, and install the clip

(A) which secures the engine harness to the inter-

cooler stay RH.
Tightening torque:

16 N·m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)

3) Attach the air duct hose to the throttle body.
Tightening torque:

3 N·m (0.3 kgf-m, 2.2 ft-lb)

4) Install the intercooler to the intercooler stay.
Tightening torque:

16 N·m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)

5) Tighten the clamp (A) which secures the intake

duct to the turbocharger.

6) Tighten the clamp (B) which secures the air duct

hose to the intercooler.
