Do not fit seal (7).

Fit bearing unit

 (5) to kingpin (10).

Use a drift

 (A).

Fit nut

 (4).

Tighten to torque.

Use tool 0484.

If necessary

Use tool 9774.

Place the dial gauge foot on a flat surface of the stub axle with the stylus in contact with kingpin

 (10).

Use tool 9661.

Place a jack under the stub axle.

If necessary

Use tool 2363.

Raise the jack.

Set the dial gauge to

 0 and lower the jack.

Note down reading 

 (A) (A = stub axle end play).

Remove kingpin

 (10).

Assemble bearing

 (5) made up of outer ring (C) and inner ring (B).

Fit seal (7).

Compare reading

 (A) with the Manufacturer's value.

If

 (A) is higher than the Manufacturer's value, insert shims (6) to obtain the required play.

Fit pivot pin

 (10).

Use tool 9423.

Press until a force of

 17 tonnes is reached.

Fit bearing unit

 (5) to kingpin (10).
