Install the accessory drive pulley.

Install the starter motor.

Connect the battery ground cable and install the cover.

Fill and bleed the cooling system.

• NOTE: If the transmission is to be removed for access, there is no need to drain the transmission fluid as long as the
fluid cooler is not disconnected from the transmission assembly.

CAUTION: Make sure that the dowels are still located on the

engine and not the transmission.

Remove the torque converter retainer.

2. CAUTIONS:

 Make sure that the torque converter remains in the

transmission.

 Make sure that the component is correctly located on the

locating dowels.

 Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of

corrosion and foreign material.

 Make sure that the dowels are still located on the engine and

not the transmission.

• NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.

Install the transmission and converter.

Torque: 47 Nm

Remove the transmission support.

General Equipment: 

Powertrain Jack

CAUTION: Make sure that new bolts are

installed.

Secure the torque convertor to the flexplate.

Torque: 60 Nm

Install the access cover.

5.

Install the RH halfshaft.

Torque:

Drive shaft support 25 Nm

Install the LH halfshaft.
