Diagnosis and testing

 

 

Glass, Frames and Mechanisms   

Inspection and Verification 

1 . Verify the customer concern by operating the system.  
 
2 . Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.  

Visual Inspection Chart 

Mechanical  

Electrical

Window glass.  

•

 

Window regulator.  

•

 

Fuse(s).  

•

 

Window motor.  

•

 

Loose or corroded electrical connector(s).  

•

 

Switch.  

•

 

Circuit(s).  

 
1 . If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if 
possible) before proceeding to the next step.  
 
2 . If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom and refer to the Jaguar Approved 
Diagnostic System.

 

Removal and installation

 

 

Front Door Window Glass (76.31.01)   

Removal  

 

1 . Lower the front door window glass approximately 290 mm (11.4 in). 

 

 

 

2 . Detach the front door wiring harness.  

 

 

 

3 . Disconnect the electrical connectors.  

 

 

 

4 . Detach the front door wiring harness grommet. 

 

 

 

5 . Remove the front door inner weathershield.

6 . Remove the front door window glass retaining bolt.

Detach the front door window glass from the front door window regulator retaining 
clip.  

 

 

 

8 . Remove the front door window glass. 

 
 

Installation

NOTE:  

  

Make sure the front door window glass is correctly located to the front door 
window regulator.  

 
To install reverse the removal procedure.  

  

 

Tighten to 7 Nm.
