NOTE:

• Put on gloves to protect your hands.
• Take care not to scratch the body and related parts.

1. Remove these items:

• Front bulkhead cover (see page 20-171)
• Front inner fender, left side as needed (see page 20-178)
• Kick panel, left side (see page 20-60)

2. Disconnect the hood opener cable (A) from the hood latch (B) (see page 20-185).

3. Remove the bolts (C), then remove the hood release handle (D).

4. Using a clip remover, detach the clips (E), and remove the grommet (F) from the body, then remove the hood

opener cable from the vehicle. Take care not to kink the cable.

5. Install the cable in the reverse order of removal, and replace any damaged clips.

SRS components are located in this area. Review the
SRS component locations (see page 24-14) and the
precautions and procedures (see page 24-16) before
doing repairs or service.

NOTE:

• Put on gloves to protect your hands.
• Take care not to scratch the body and related parts.

1. Remove these items from the left side of the

vehicle:

• Front door sill trim (see page 20-60)
• Rear door sill trim (see page 20-60)
• B-pillar lower trim (see page 20-65)
• Rear seat side trim (see page 20-60)
• Rear fender cover (see page 20-181)
• Side bed panel (see page 20-162)

2. Disconnect the fuel fill door opener cable from the

fuel fill door opener (see page 20-186).

3. Remove the fuel fill door opener cable (A) from the

clips, and remove the urethane block (B) from the
body, then remove the grommet (C).

4. From the left rear wheel arch, detach the clips, and

then pull out the fuel fill door opener cable (A), and
remove the grommets (B).

5. On the pickup bed, remove the fuel fill door latch

(A) from the body by turning it 90 °, then remove
the fuel fill door opener cable (B) by pulling out
through the hole in the body. Take care not to kink
the cable.

6. Install the opener cable (A) in the reverse order of

removal, and note these items:

• Check if the clips are damaged or stress-

whitened, and if necessary, replace them with
new ones.

• Align the mark (B) on the cable with the clips.

NOTE:

• Put on gloves to protect your hands.
• Take care not to scratch the body.

1. Remove the front bulkhead cover (see page 20-171).

2. Detach the latch switch connector (A) from the

connector clip (B), and disconnect it.

3. Remove the bolts (A) and nut (B), then remove the

latch (C) from the body.
