1. Clamp the output shaft in a vise. 

2. Only remove the bearing if it is to be renewed. 

General Equipment:

4. Discard the snap ring.

CAUTION: The detent balls are spring-

loaded. Take care when removing the 
selector ring from the synchronizer hub. 
NOTE: Note the position of each component 
before removal. 

Disassemble the following items: 

1. Selector ring 
2. Synchronizer body 
3. Compression springs 
4. Blocker bars 
5. Detent balls 

6. Discard the snap ring.
