Installation

Locking Tool, Flywheel 

1. Remove the clutch disc and pressure plate. 

Refer to:

2. Discard the flywheel retaining bolts. 

Special Tool(s): 

303-393

 

Torque: 

 

35 Nm 
45° 

Stage 1: 
Stage 2: 

3. Discard the crankshaft rear seal carrier. 

1.

NOTE: New crankshaft rear seal carriers are 
supplied with an alignment sleeve which 
must be removed after installation. 

Torque: 

20 Nm 

2. Inspect the flywheel.

3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Removal 

General Equipment 

WARNING: This procedure involves fuel handling. Be prepared for fuel spillage at all times and always observe fuel handling precautions.

WARNING: Make sure that the fuel pressure has dropped to zero and that the fuel temperature is at ambient temperature.

3. Remove the air cleaner.

4. Remove the battery.
