14. Remove rear pinion bearing with Puller/Press

C-293-PA (1) and Adapters C-293-37 (3).

15. Remove pinion depth shims (2) from pinion shaft

(1) and record shim thickness.

INSTALLATION

1. Apply Mopar Door Ease stick or equivalent lubri-

cant to outside surface of bearing cups.

2. Install rear pinion bearing cup with Installer D-111

(1) and Handle C-4171 (2).

3. Install front pinion bearing cup with Installer D-146

(1) and Handle C-4171 (2).

4. Install front pinion bearing (1) into housing (2).

5. Install oil slinger (1) into housing (2).

6. Apply a light coating of gear lubricant on the lip of

pinion seal. Install new pinion seal (1) with Installer
9348 (2).

7. Install pinion depth shim (2) on pinion gear shaft

(1).
