(2) Install bolt into hinge top hole on the right side

or bottom hole left side (smallest hole).

(3) Install bolt into hinge bottom hole on the right

side or top hole left side (slotted hole).

(4) Install bolts attaching door check strap to

hinge pillar.

(5) Connect wire connector at hinge pillar, if nec-

essary.

(6) Verify

door

flush

and

gap

measurements,

adjust as necessary.

INSTALLATION - PT-27 ONLY

(1) Align the hinge marks and position door to the

hinges on vehicle (Fig. 5).

(2) Install bolt into hinge top hole on the right side

or bottom hole left side (smallest hole).

(3) Install bolt into hinge bottom hole on the right

side or top hole left side (slotted hole).

(4) Install bolts attaching door check strap to

hinge pillar.

(5) Connect wire connector at hinge pillar, if nec-

essary.

(6) Verify

door

flush

and

gap

measurements,

adjust as necessary. (Refer to 23 - BODY/BODY
STRUCTURE/GAP AND FLUSH - PT-27 - SPECIFI-
CATIONS).

FRONT DOOR GLASS

REMOVAL

REMOVAL

(1) Remove door trim panel and water dam.
(2) Remove inner door belt weatherstrip (Fig. 6).
(3) Lower door glass to bottom of door to gain

access to attaching bolts.

(4) Loosen bolts attaching door glass to window

regulator lift plates.

(5) Disengage door glass from regulator.
(6) Lift door glass upward, tilting down at the

front and up at the back, out of the opening at the
top of door.

REMOVAL - PT-27 ONLY

(1) Remove door trim panel.
(2) Remove door speaker.
(3) Remove inside handle link
(4) Remove water dam.
(5) Remove inner door belt weatherstrip.
(6) Loosen inner belt stabilizer (Fig. 7).
(7) Lower door glass to access glass attachment

bolts through inner panel (third way down).

(8) Remove bolts attaching regulator lift channel

to door glass (Fig. 8).

(9) Remove bolts attaching rear rail assembly lift

plate to door glass.

(10) Remove rear rail assembly lift plate from door

glass.

(11) Lift door glass upward and out of opening at

top of door (Fig. 9).

INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

(1) Carefully lower door glass through opening in

top of door.

(2) Position door glass into window regulator lift

plates (Fig. 6).

(3) Install bolts door glass to lift plates and do not

tighten.

(4) Raise glass to the full up position and then

tighten the lift plate bolts.

(5) Install inner door belt weatherstrip.
(6) Install door trim panel and water dam.

INSTALLATION - PT-27

(1) Carefully lower door glass through opening in

top of door. Verify that the front edge of the glass is
in the mirror flag glass channel (Fig. 9).

(2) Install nuts attaching regulator lift channel to

door glass (Fig. 8).

(3) Position rear rail assembly onto door glass and

install bolts.

(4) Tighten all door glass fasteners to 7.3 N·m (65

in. lbs.).

(5) Tighten window inner belt stabilizer (Fig. 7).
(6) Install inner door belt weatherstrip. (Refer to

23 - BODY/WEATHERSTRIP/SEALS/FRONT DOOR
INNER BELT WEATHERSTRIP - INSTALLATION).

(7) Install the water dam. (Refer to 23 - BODY/

DOOR - FRONT/WATER DAM - INSTALLATION).

(8) Install door speaker. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRI-

CAL/AUDIO/SPEAKER - INSTALLATION).

(9) Install inside handle link an clip in door inner

panel.

(10) Install door trim panel.

ADJUSTMENTS

ADJUSTMENT - PT-27 ONLY

FRONT DOOR ADJUSTMENT

NOTE: Verify that the door is properly adjusted to
the body prior to adjusting the door glass.

NOTE: Lower quarter glass to the full down position
while making door glass adjustments, unless other-
wise instructed.

TOP OF GLASS – INBOARD/OUTBOARD ADJUSTMENTS

(1) Remove the access covers. Disengage front

cover by prying at its rear edge. Disengage rear cover
by prying at notch at bottom of reflector.

(2) Using a 10 mm socket, loosen the jack screw

nuts.

(3) Using a 3 mm allen wrench, rotate the jack

screw to achieve the proper alignment between the
door glass and the weatherstrip. Tighten all fasten-
ers prior to measuring the gaps.

(4) Cycle the glass fully down and up, open and

close the door. Verify that the top edge of the door
glass meets dimension.

(5) Install access covers.

UP-STOP ADJUSTMENTS

(1) Remove door trim panel. (Refer to 23 - BODY/

DOOR - FRONT/TRIM PANEL - REMOVAL)

(2) Remove water dam.
(3) Apply tape to outboard top surface of glass and

close door with top closed.

(4) Mark outboard seal contact to glass on tape.
(5) Measure marking to edge of glass and see if

meets dimensions (Fig. 10).

(6) Lower glass so up stop is visible through door

inner panel.

(7) Adjust the up stop to achieve the proper glass

to weatherstrip dimensions.

(8) Cycle the glass fully down and up, open and

close the door. Verify that the top edge of the door
glass meets dimensions.

NOTE: Verify that the forward edge of the glass is
flush with the mirror flag edge. Adjust the mirror
flag as necessary to achieve a flush condition. (Fig.
11)

GLASS - FRONT/REAR ADJUSTMENT

(1) Remove the rear upper corner of watershield

(Refer to 23 - BODY/DOOR - FRONT/WATER-
SHIELD - REMOVAL).

(2) Lower door glass slightly (2 mm or 5/64 inch)

to gain access to glass attachments and relieve pres-
sure from up stops.

(3) Loosen two rearward glass attachment bolts.
(4) Raise door glass and position correctly (Fig.

12).

(5) Tighten the one accessible glass fasteners in

the full up position.

(6) Lower door glass and tighten the remaining

glass fasteners.

(7) Raise glass to top of travel and verify position-

ing.

(8) To verify proper fit of the door glass to the

header/A-pillar weatherstrip,

(a) Lower door glass slightly.
(b) Place a paper strip between the glass and

weatherstrip near mirror flag and another near the
front upper corner of the door glass (Fig. 13).

(c) Raise glass to full up position.
(d) Pull the strip from between the door glass

and the weatherstrip. There should be slight ten-
sion on the paper.
