Section Seven: Fixing and Unfixing of Gear-shifting Mechanism and its Accessories 
 
I. Gear lever protective cover 
1. Unfixing the gear lever protective 
cover 
(1) Remove the gear lever handle with a 
moderate force (Figure 91)

2) Pull up the gear lever sleeve out of the 
central control booth (Figure 92).

2. Fixing 
(1) Fix the gear lever sleeve onto the 
gear lever’s mechanical structure so that 
its front flange is engaged with the 
control booth. Manually press the flange 
so that the trough is engaged with the 
control booth.  
(2) Align the handle hole with the gear

(3) Slightly strike it with a rubber 
hammer so that it is engaged with the 
mechanical structure.  
(4) Ensure that the gear shifting

1. Unfixing the gear-shifting control 
mechanism 

(1) Screw the handle off the gear lever 
mechanical structure with moderate 
strength. 
 
 
 

(2) Pull up the gear lever sleeve to dismantle it.  
(3) Unfix the central control booth 
assembly as the figure shows.  
(4) Unfix the connecting cable retaining 
clip from the gear lever (Figure 94).

(5) Unfix the gear-shifting cable 
retaining clip and detach the cable form 
the connecting rod (Figure 95).

(6) Unfix the three set bolts for the gear 
lever bracket and the floor (Figure 94) 
(7) Unfix the air filter assembly (Figure 
96).  
 
 
(8) Unfix the cable from the gearbox 
shifting lever (Figure 97).  
(9) Unfix the cable retaining clip and 
dismantle the cable from the bracket 
(Figure 97).

(10) Jack up the car. 
(11) Unfix the three-way catalyst heat-
insulating plate (Figure 98).  
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
(12) Unfix the remaining rubber seals 
and bolts (Figure 99). 
(13). Detach the tie-in assembly from the 
car.

2. Fixing the gear-shifting control 
mechanism 
(1) Jack up the car 
 
(2) Fix the cable assembly through the 
opening on the floor and fix the flexible 
shaft snap loop according to the location 
of gear-shifting control mechanism’s 
bracket positioning hole. The gear-

selecting and gear-shifting rocker arms 
are connected through a ball head. 
(3) Fix the three-way catalyst heat-
insulating plate (Figure 100).  
 
 
 
(4) Lower the car. 
(5) Fix the gear lever tie rod’s 
connecting head to the bracket and 
fasten with a new retaining clip (Figure 
101).  
(6) Connect the gear lever tie rod and the 
differential gear lever (Figure 101).

(7) Fix and screw tight three rubber seal 
bolts with a torque of 6N.m. 
(8) Fix the gear lever tie rod attachments 
(Figure 102).
