(10) Adjust the gear-shifting cable tie-in.
(a) Release the adjusting screw for the
tie-in (Figure 104).
(b) The gear-shifting mechanical
structure and gearbox tie rods are all
spring-driven and capable of self-
positioning. Place the gear-shifting
mechanical structure and gearbox shift
lever at neutral position. Make sure that
the shift lever is appropriately positioned,
place the shift lever at 3

th

 position

and rotate the adjusting screw of the
shift lever with a torque of 8N.m. Take
care while tightening the screws so that
the gear-shifting mechanism is not
eccentrically located.
(c) Check the car performance at each
gear of the gearbox.

III. Car speed sensor
The car speed sensor is fixed near the
output shaft and gives out pulsating
signals with the pinion moving through
the magnetic field. The engine computer
then receives and interprets the signals
and determines the speed display
through the car speed control circuit.
1. Unfixing
(1) Jack up the car
(2) Detach the car speed sensor plug
(Figure 109).
Note: clean the car speed sensor
surface after it is unfixed.
(3) Unfix the set bolts of the car speed
sensor (Figure 109).

(4) Unfix the car speed sensor from the differential.
Note: Do not drop any sensor pinion during unfixing.
(5) Unfix the sensor drive pinion from the car speed sensor.
2. Fixing
(1) Fix the car speed sensor pinion (Figure 109).
(2) Use new “O” rings and fix the car speed sensor onto the differential assembly (Figure
109).
(3) Screw on the torque converter bolts with a torque of 7N.m.
(4) Plug in the car speed sensor (Figure 109).
(5) Lower and trial run the car and check if the speedometer is working properly.
