  Chery A15 Maintenance Manual 

FM3 and AM bands. Press key 1-6 in frequency memory ⒂ to save received 

frequencies. 

1. Manual save 

When a desired frequency is searched by automatic scan, keep pressing any of keys 

1-6 for three seconds, the broadcasting sound will fade and then ascend, which 

indicates that the frequency has been saved to the memory key you press. 

2. Automatic save 

Keep pressing AS ⑩ for three seconds, the system will enter a preset automatic 

procedure to search from low end to high end for radio signals with LCD ④ 

displaying “ATP” mark. Six frequencies with strong signals will be automatically 

saved into memory, and after search is finished LCD will repeat displaying saved 

frequencies with the selected memory numbers flashing for five seconds and the 

corresponding program being played. Press AS  ⑩  once again to stop showing saved 

frequency. This automatic save is available with all of FM1, FM2, FM3 and AM 

bands. 

Memory Scan 

Quickly press AS ⑩ once at a certain band, LCD ④ will display six saved 

frequencies in turn. Selected memory number of each saved frequency will flash for 5 

seconds with the program being played. To lock a desired frequency, press the 

corresponding number key (1-6) to stop scanning. This memory scan is available with 

all of FM1, FM2, FM3 and AM bands. 

 

III. Additional Functions 

Volume Control 

In case of small volume, press loudness control "LOU" (12) for high, low frequency 

tone compensation. LCD ④  will then display "LOUD" mark. Press again to 

deactivate loudness control, and "LOUD" mark on LCD will dissappear. 

Speaker Control 

1. Knob (16) controls volume of front and rear speakers.

A. This knob is preset to a balanced position by manufacturer, which means front and 

rear speakers have the same volume. 

B. To shut rear speakers, clockwise turn the knob to the end. 

C. To shut front speakers, counterclockwise turn the knob to the end. 

2. Pull out knob  ①  to control left and right speaker volume. 

A. This knob is preset to a balanced position by manufacturer, which means left and 

right speakers have the same volume. 

B. To shut left speakers, clockwise turn the knob to the end. 

C. To shut right speakers, counterclockwise turn the knob to the end. 

D. After left and right speaker volume is adjusted, push the knob back immediately.

V. Installation of Audio System 

Audio system includes sound source, speakers and antenna, where sound source may 

be cassette player/radio assembly and optional CD player assembly or VCD player 

assembly. CD player assembly and VCD player assembly consist of player, power 

wire, signal wires and record changer. 

1. Installing Cassette/Radio Assembly 

 Fit the metal frame into the secondary instrument panel, and press down the lock 

pins on top, bottom, left and right sides of the frame with a screwdriver; 

 Connect power wire, control wire, signal wire and antenna; 

 Press the assembly into the frame with thumbs and forefingers applying even 

force on both sides until locking sound is heard from the locking plate on both 

sides. 

2. Installing Antenna 

 Fit the antenna into the hole on roof and regulate the position; 

 Tighten antenna with washer and nonstandard nut, connect corresponding wires; 

 Lay the fore end of antenna wire harness on the rear side of cassette player/radio 

or CD/VCD player, and connect the read end with antenna connectors; 

 Tie antenna wire harness with the left wire harness in car compartment. 

3. Installing Front Speakers on Dashboard 

 Connect wire harness terminals; 

 Insert the speakers into hole sites with terminals at left side, and turn rightward 

to fix (note the terminals must to pointing to driver's position after fixing to 

avoid short circuit). 

 Press to fit speaker cover in proper direction. 

4. Installing Speakers on Front Door 

 Connect wire harness, insert the speakers to the fit sites on front door and fix it; 

 Tighten four tapping screws; 

 Press to fit speaker cover in proper direction. 

5. Installing Rear Speakers 

 First fit properly the speaker covers (speaker terminals pointing inward); 

 Fit two rubber washers on each of the four plastic poles and tighten the nuts; 

 Connect wire harness.
