If fuse No. 7 (10 A) is open or removed, and you keep the engine cranking, this may be self-diagnosed as a failure in the
SRS system, and the SRS indicator light may indicate DTC 7-2. In this case, first check the No. 7 (10 A) fuse in the under-

dash fuse/relay box. Next, erase the DTC memory (see page

24-37

), and check the DTC. If DTC 7-2 doesn't reappear, the

SRS unit is normal.

The SRS Indicator Light Doesn't Come On

CAUTION: Whenever the ignition switch is ON (II), or has

been turned OFF for less than 3 minutes, be careful not

to bump the SRS unit; the airbags could accidentally

deploy and cause damage or injuries.

NOTE: The PCM memory must be reset after reconnec-

ting the battery (see page

11-125

Check the power supply (fuse):
Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check whether the other
indicator lights come on or not (brake system, etc.).

Do the other indicator lights come on?

Check the fuse:
Check the No. 13 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay
box.

Check the bulb:
Replace the No. 13 (7.5 A) fuse, and check that the SRS
indicator light comes on.

Check the wire harness between the fuse and gauge
assembly or gauge relay:
Check for an open in the wire harness between the fuse

No. 13 (7.5 A) and the gauge assembly, check the gauge
relay, and repair as needed. Check that the SRS indicator
light comes on.

Check the SRS indicator light bulb:

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

2. Remove the gauge assembly.
3. Check for blown SRS indicator light bulb.

Check the SRS indicator light circuit:

Replace the bulb, and reconnect the gauge assembly con-
nectors. Then turn the ignition switch ON (II).
