When the max. demisting/defrosting

function is on, the led on the relevant

button and that on the heated rear

window button turn on. Message

FULL AUTO on the display will turn

off.

When the max. demisting/defrosting

function is on, the only manual oper-

ations possible are manual adjustment

of the fan and switching rear window

heating off.

Press the max. demisting/defrosting

button again or air recirculation but-

ton or compressor off button or

AUTO button to switch the max.

demisting/defrosting function off and

reset the previous system operation

conditions.

Button for demisting/defrosting
the heated rear window G

Press this button to switch on the

heated rear window demisting/ de-

frosting function. The led on the but-

ton will come on.

This function will be automatically

switched off after 30 minutes, or

pressing the button again or when

stopping the engine. It will not start

up automatically when the engine is

started again.

IMPORTANT Do not apply stickers

on the inside of the rear window over

the heating filaments to avoid dam-

age that might cause it to stop work-

ing properly.

OFF button E (system off)

To switch the climate control system

off, press button

The display will only show that inside

air recirculation is on

í.

The climate control system conditions

when the system is off are the follow-

ing:
❒ All leds off;
❒ set temperature displays off;
❒ air recirculation on, thus isolating

the passenger compartment;

❒ climate control system compressor

off;

❒ fan off.
The heated rear window can be

switched on and off normally when

the system is off.

IMPORTANT The climate control

system electronic unit stores the sys-

tem settings made before the system

was switched off and restores them as

soon as a button is pressed (with the

exception of the heated rear window

button). The function which the but-

ton corresponds to will be switched

on, if it was off when the system was

switched off. It will be kept if, on the

other hand, it was on when the sys-

tem was switched off.

Press the AUTO button to switch the

climate control system back on.

Misting preventing sensor
(for versions/markets,
where provided)

Under the driver mirror is installed a

sensor for detecting windscreen mist-

ing and ensuring safe visibility condi-

tions.

The system starts working as soon as

the windscreen mists up under par-

ticular outside temperature and hu-

midity conditions by implementing a

series of operations aimed to keep

proper visibility.

When the sensor detects incipient

misting:
❒ it will turn compressor on (symbol ò

on the display and button B on);

❒ it will turn the air recirculation off

(air admitted from the outside);

Should the above actions be unsuc-

cessful, the following actions are im-

plemented:
❒ air distribution change to increase

the amount of air flow towards the

windscreen;

❒ air flow improvement.
Misting preventing sensor actions are

active safety actions that are imple-

mented under both automatic or

manual operations.

Manual operations during sensor ac-

tivation will obtain sensor deactiva-

tion until pressing again the AUTO

button or next engine starting.

When the sensor communicates to the

climate control unit that regular visi-

bility conditions are restored, the sys-

tem will set to previous conditions.

IMPORTANT The misting preventing

sensor will cut in when outside tem-

perature and humidity conditions are

critical for proper and secure visibil-

ity, therefore when initial conditions

are reset the compressor will stay on

to prevent misting.

To ensure correct sensor
operation, keep the wind-

screen clean and do not apply
stickers and/or equivalent in the
sensor area under the driver’s mir-
ror.

“FOLLOW ME HOME” DEVICE

This function allows the illumination

of the space in front of the car.

Activation

With the ignition key at STOP or re-

moved, pull the left-hand stalk to-

wards the steering wheel and operate

it within 2 minutes from when the en-

gine is turned off.

At each single movement of the stalk,

the staying on of the lights is extended

by 30 seconds up to a maximum of

210 seconds; then the lights are

switched off automatically.

Each time the stalk is operated, the

warning light turns on together

with the message on the display (see

“Warning lights and messages” sec-

tion) showing the time for which the

function will stay on.

The warning light will come on the

first time the stalk is operated and it

will stay on until the function is

turned off automatically. Each oper-

ation of the stalk will only extend the

staying on of the lights.

Deactivation

Keep the stalk pulled towards the

steering wheel for more than 2 sec-

onds.

AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS
SENSOR (daylight sensor) fig. 52

It detects the changes of the external

light intensity of the car according to

the light sensitivity set: greater is the

sensitivity, smaller is the amount of

external light necessary to control the

switching-on of the exterior head-

lights. The daylight sensor sensitivity

can be adjusted with the “Set-up

menu” of the display.

Activation

Turn the knurled ring to

way, the automatic activation of the

side/taillights and dipped beam head-

lights are simultaneously enabled ac-

cording to the external luminosity.

During the sensor operation lights can

only be made flashing.

When the daylight sensor is on, the

display shows the preset sensitivity

level. During displaying, the sensitiv-

ity level can be adjusted using buttons

ö and õ fig. 53.

Deactivation

As a result of the sensor control, the

main beam headlights will switch off

and, after about 10 seconds, sidelights

will switch off too.

The light sensor is not able to detect

the fog presence, lights shall therefore

be switched on manually.

WINDSCREEN WASHER/WIPER

This device can only work when the

ignition key is at MAR.

The stalk can be moved to five differ-

ent positions fig. 54:

A: windscreen wiper off

B: flick wipe.

With the stalk in position B, turning

the knurled ring F, four possible in-

termittent speeds are obtained:
, = very slow intermittent
-- = slow intermittent

--- = intermittent medium

---- = fast intermittent

C: continuous slow;

D: continuous fast;

E: fast temporary (unstable position).

Never use the window
wiper to remove ice or

snow from the windscreen. In these
conditions, the wiper is submitted
to excessive effort that results in
motor protection cutting in and
wiper operation inhibition for few
seconds as a consequence. If oper-
ation is not restored contact Lan-
cia Dealership.

WARNING

Operation in position E is limited to

the time the lever is held in this posi-

tion. When the lever is released, it re-

turns to position A automatically

stopping the wiper.

“Smart washing” function

Pulling the stalk towards the steering

wheel (unstable position) operates the

windscreen washer fig. 55.

Keeping the stalk pulled, with just one

movement it is possible to operate the

washer jet and the wiper at the same

time; indeed, the latter comes into ac-

tion automatically if the stalk is pulled

for more than half a second.

The wiper stops working a few strokes

after releasing the stalk.

RAIN SENSOR
(for versions/markets,
where provided)

The rain sensor A is behind the driver

mirror in contact with the windscreen

and has the purpose of automatically

adjust, during the intermittent oper-

ation, the frequency of the windscreen

wiper strokes as to the rain intensity.

The sensor has a range of adjustment

that gradually varies between wiper

stationary (no wiping) when the

windscreen is dry, to wiper at first

continuous speed (continuous slow)

with heavy rain.

Move the right-hand stalk down by

one position.

The activation of the rain sensor is in-

dicated by a control acquisition

“stroke”.

IMPORTANT Keep clean the glass in

the sensor area.

Turning the knurled ring F it is pos-

sible to increase the sensitivity of the

rain sensor, obtaining a quicker

change from stationary (no wiping)

when the windscreen is dry, to first

continuous speed (continuous, slow).

The increase of the sensitivity of the

rain sensor is signalled by a control

and acquisition “cycle”.

Operating the windscreen washer with

the rain sensor activated the normal

washing cycle is performed at the end

of which the rain sensor resumes its

normal automatic function.

The rain sensor is able to recognize

and automatically adjust itself in the

presence of the following particular

conditions:
❒ impurities on the controlled surface

(salt, dirt, etc.);

❒ streaks of water caused by worn

wiper blades;

❒ difference between day and night.

REAR WINDOW WASH/WIPE

This device can only work when the

ignition key is at MAR.

Pushing the lever towards the dash-

board (unstable position), the rear

window washer jet and the continu-

ous rear window wiper operation are

activated.

Operation ends when the stalk is re-

leased.

At the following starting operation

(key at MAR), the sensor will not be

reactivated even if the stalk is on B.

In this event, to activate the rain sen-

sor, you have to move the stalk to A

or C and then again to B.

When the rain sensor is again acti-

vated in this way, at least one wind-

screen wiper stroke occurs, even if the

windscreen is dry.

It is a device able to support the dri-

ver, with electronic control, which al-

lows driving at speed over 30 km/h

on long and straight dry roads (e.g.:

motorways), at a desired speed, with-

out pressing the accelerator pedal.

Therefore it is not suggested to use

this device on extra-urban roads with

traffic. Do not use it in town.

DEVICE ENGAGEMENT fig. 58

Turn knurled ring A to ON.

The device may only be engaged in

gear. Travelling downhill

with the device engaged, the car speed

may increase more than the memo-

rised one.

Proceed as follows:
❒ turn the knurled ring A to ON and

press the accelerator pedal to the

required speed;

❒ move the lever upwards (+) for at

least three seconds, then release it.

The car speed is memorised and it

is therefore possible to release the

accelerator pedal.

In the case of need (when overtaking

for instance) acceleration is possible

simply pressing the accelerator pedal;

later, releasing the accelerator pedal,

the car will return to the speed mem-

orised previously.

TO RESET THE MEMORISED
SPEED

If the device has been disengaged for

example pressing the brake or clutch

pedal, the memorised speed can be re-

set as follows:
❒ accelerate gradually until reaching

a speed approaching the one mem-

orised;

❒ engage the gear selected at the time

of speed memorising (4

th

or 5

th

gear);

❒ press the RES B button.

TO INCREASE THE
MEMORISED SPEED

The speed memorised can be in-

creased in two ways:
❒ pressing the accelerator and then

memorising the new speed reached;

or
❒ moving the lever upwards (+).
Each operation of the lever will cor-

respond to a slight increase in speed

(about 1 km/h), while keeping the

lever upwards will correspond to a

continuous speed increase.

TO REDUCE MEMORISED
SPEED

The speed memorised can be in-

creased in two ways:
❒ disengaging the device and then

memorising the new speed;

or
❒ moving the lever downwards (–)

until reaching the new speed which

will be memorised automatically.

Each operation of the lever ring will

correspond to a slight reduction in

speed (about 1 km/h), while keeping

the lever downwards will correspond

to a continuous speed reduction.

DEVICE DISENGAGEMENT

Turn the ring A to OFF or the ignition

key to STOP. The device is auto-

matically deactivated also in one of

the following cases:
❒ pressing the brake or clutch pedal;
❒ ESP system cut-in (for versions/

markets, where provided).

When travelling with the
device on, do not put the

gearbox lever in neutral.

WARNING

In the event of device mal-
function or failure, turn

the knurled ring A to OFF and con-
tact a Lancia Dealership after
checking the protective fuse in-
tegrity.

Press button A to turn on/off the dri-

ver’s courtesy light or button C to

turn on/off the passenger’s courtesy

light.

With the key on STOP or removed,

the ceiling light will stay on for about

15 minutes, then it is automatically

switched off.

Central light

The bulb automatically turns on when

a door is opened and turns off when

a door is closed after about 10 sec-

onds.

If the door is left open, the ceiling

light goes off after about 3 minutes.

The bulb can also be turned on/off by

pressing button B.

Light turning on/off is gradual.

After switching on by button B, if the

key is at STOP or removed, the ceil-

ing light stays on for about 15 min-

utes, then it is automatically switched

off.

CONTROLS

It is located next to the passenger’s

door pillar, at the bottom (move the

covering aside to reach it) and it

comes into operation in the case of a

crash by cutting off fuel and switch-

ing off the engine.

When the device comes into opera-

tion, the instrument cluster warning

sage on the multifunction display (See

section “Warning lights and mes-

sages”).

Carefully inspect the car to find fuel

leaks, e.g. in the engine compartment,

under the car or near the tank.

can be started again, press button A

to reset the fuel system and the lights.

MAR. If the smoker-kit is required,

the power socket is replaced by the

cigar lighter.

If, after a crash, you smell
fuel or see leaks from the

fuel system, do not reset the switch
to avoid fire risk.

IMPORTANT Do not use the ashtray

as waste paper basket: it might set on

driving mirror. They can be adjusted

forwards and sidewards.

Two courtesy mirrors are located on

the back of the driver and passenger

sun visors.

To use the driver’s mirror, open the

CIGAR LIGHTER

It is located on the central console, at

the side of the handbrake lever.

Press the relevant button to switch on

the cigar lighter with ignition key at

MAR.

After approx. 15 seconds it will return

to its initial position and is ready for

use.

IMPORTANT Always check that the

cigar lighter has turned off.

IMPORTANT The cigar lighter gets

very hot. Handle it with care and

make sure that it is not used by chil-

dren: danger of fire and/or burns.

SUNROOF

(for versions/markets,

where provided)

The “skydome” type sunroof consists

of two glass panels (a fixed one and a

sliding one) fitted with sun curtains

with two manual control positions

(open/closed). Sunroof operation is

possible only with the ignition key at

MAR. Buttons A and B-fig. 66, lo-

cated on the central ceiling light, con-

trol sunroof opening and closing.

Automatic opening

Press button A for longer than 1 sec-

ond to set the front glass panel to

spoiler position; press button A again

for longer than 1 second to open the

panel completely. After pressing the

button for the first time, the sunroof

can be opened at intermediate posi-

tions by pressing button A again.

Automatic closing

From fully-open position, press but-

ton B for longer than 1 second to set

the front panel to spoiler position;

press button B again for longer than

1 second to close the sunroof com-

pletely. After pressing the button for

the first time, the sunroof can be

opened at intermediate positions by

pressing button B again.

Manual opening / closing

Pressing button A or B, for less than

1 second will open or close the sun-

roof according to pressing length and

it will stop when releasing the button.

This function shall be used to

open/close the sunroof at intermedi-

ate positions with respect to automatic

opening/closing.

ANTI-CRUSHING SAFETY
SYSTEM

Sunroof is fitted with anti-crushing

safety system that detects the presence

of an obstacle during sunroof closing

stroke and that cuts in by stopping

and reversing the sunroof stroke.

INITIALISATION PROCEDURE

Sunroof shall be re-initialised after

disconnecting the battery or if the rel-

evant protection fuse is blown.

Proceed as follows:
❒ press button B-fig. 66 at close po-

sition;

❒ keep the button pressed to close

completely by steps the sunroof;

❒ after full closing, wait for sunroof

motor stopping.

When leaving the car, the ignition key

should be removed to prevent the

sunroof from being operated inadver-

tently and harming anyone remaining

in the car. Improper use of the sun-

roof can be dangerous. Before and

during its operation ensure that any

passengers are not at risk from the

moving roof either by personal objects

getting caught in the mechanism or

by being injured by it directly.

roof can be operated manually as fol-

lows:
❒ take the Allen screw wrench A out of

the glove compartment

❒ remove the protection cap set on the

internal side of the roof near the sun

curtain

❒ insert the wrench provided into B

and turn it:

– clockwise to open the sunroof

– counterclockwise to close the

sunroof

Do not open the sunroof if
roof rack/ski rack are
mounted.

Do not open the sunroof if
there is snow or ice on it: it
could be damaged.

When leaving the car, the
ignition key should be re-

moved to prevent the sunroof from
being operated inadvertently and
harming anyone remaining in the
car. Improper use of the sunroof
can be dangerous. Before and dur-
ing its operation ensure that any
passengers are not at risk from the
moving roof either by personal ob-
jects getting caught in the mecha-
nism or by being injured by it di-
rectly.
