FRONT TIMING CHAIN CASE EM-47 C D E F G H I J K L M A EM FRONT TIMING CHAIN CASE PFP:13599 Removal and Installation NBS002UM NOTE: ● This section describes removal/installation procedure of front timing chain case and timing chain (primary) ● When oil pan (upper) needs to be removed or installed, or when rear timing chain case is removed or ● Refer to REMOVAL 1. Remove engine cover with power tool. Refer to EM-18, "INTAKE MANIFOLD COLLECTOR" . 2. Remove undercover with power tool. 3. Release the fuel pressure. Refer to EC-81, "FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE" . 4. Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal. 5. . CAUTION: ● Perform this step when engine is cold. ● Do not spill engine oil on drive belts. 6. Drain engine coolant from radiator. Refer to CO-10, "Changing Engine Coolant" CAUTION: ● Perform this step when engine is cold. ● Do not spill engine coolant on drive belts. 7. Separate engine harnesses removing their brackets from front timing chain case. 8. Remove radiator cooling fan assembly. Refer to 9. 10. Remove power steering oil pump from bracket with piping connected, and temporarily secure it aside. Refer to PS-31, "POWER STEERING OIL PUMP" . 11. Remove power steering oil pump bracket. Refer to PS-31, "POWER STEERING OIL PUMP" . 12. Remove alternator. Refer to 13. Remove water bypass hose, water hose clamp and idler pulley bracket from front timing chain case. 14. Remove right and left intake valve timing control covers. (A/T models) ● Loosen bolts in reverse order as shown in the figure. ● Use seal cutter [SST: KV10111100 (J37228)] or an equivalent CAUTION: Shaft is internally jointed with intake camshaft sprocket 15. Remove left and right valve timing control covers (including magnet retarder and cover) with the following procedure. (M/T models) SEM728G |
