Removing and installing mirror glass

Note

Removal and installation is described for the right mirror glass

only. The removal and installation of the left mirror glass is anal‐

ogous.

2. Exterior mirror

Carry out following work:

WARNING

When doing this repair work, always wear safety goggles and

leather gloves!

– Protect edge of housing -2- against paint damage with e.g.

fabric-reinforced adhesive tape.

– Push top edge of mirror glass -1- into mirror housing -2-.
– Press mirror glass -1- off adjuster unit -4- using the wedge -

T10383- .

– Swivel mirror glass -1- to side -arrow b- and detach existing

connector contacts -3- for electric mirror heating on back of

mirror glass -1-.

Carry out following work:
– Press connector contacts onto mirror glass.
– Push mirror glass centrally onto adjustment unit in housing.
Mirror glass engages audibly.
• Perform functional check.

Note

The removal and installation sequence is only for the right trim.

Removal and installation of the left trim are analogous.

Removing

Carry out following work:
– Remove mirror glass

Installing

Carry out following work:
– Swivel trim -1- behind retaining lugs -2- on mirror mounting

-3-.

– Press trim -1- onto mirror mounting -3- until locking hooks

-4- engage audibly.

– Install mirror glass

Note

Removal and installation is described for the right exterior mirror

housing only. Removal and installation of the left exterior mirror

housing are analogous.
