The wind deflector and the pivot point are preloaded by the

wind deflector spring. This preload must not be released by

loosening the pivot point screws as otherwise the thread in the

assembly unit will become damaged.

– Press pivot point -3- against assembly unit -2-, thereby pre‐

serving preload when screws are removed.

– Remove screws -4- on left first and then on right, ensuring that

pressure is applied against respective pivot point -3- to pre‐

serve preload.

– Remove pivot points -3- with springs and wind deflector -1-.

Installing

Carry out following work:
– Place wind deflector -1- together with springs and pivot points

-3- on assembly unit -2-.

Caution

The wind deflector and the pivot point are preloaded by the

wind deflector spring. This preload must not be introduced by

screwing in the pivot point screws as otherwise the thread in

the assembly unit will become damaged.

– Press pivot point -3- against assembly unit -2-, thereby intro‐

ducing preload when screws are screwed in.

– Screw in screws -4- on left first and then on right, ensuring that

pressure is applied against respective pivot point -3- to pre‐

serve preload.

Specified torque for bolts -4-: 1.5 Nm.
– Clip wind deflector -1- into carrier unit -2- -arrows-.

– Push sliding headliner a little towards the rear.

– Unscrew rear screws -arrow- on left and right.
– Pull out spring slide to rear and remove sliding headlining -1-

upwards.

Install in reverse order of removal.

Remove or install drive for sliding/tilting roof only when glass pan‐

– Detach connector -2- from drive for sliding/tilting roof.

Installing

Carry out following work:
• Drive for sliding/tilting roof (zero position).
If this is not the case, set to "0" position

– Attach connector -2- to drive for sliding/tilting roof.
– Position drive for sliding/tilting roof -1- in mounting position and

screw in bolts -arrows-.

Specified torque for bolts -arrows-: 4 Nm.
– Install front interior light -W1- ⇒  Electrical system; Rep. gr.

– Perform programming run for sliding/tilting roof

Setting drive for sliding/tilting sunroof to

zero position

Carry out following work:
– Electric motor removed; electrical connections connected.
– Use automatic preselector control function to select “Roof

closed”.

– Electric motor runs into zero position and cuts out automati‐

cally.

– Install motor in this position with sliding roof closed.

Performing programming run for drive

for sliding/tilting sunroof

Note

Following removal and installation or renewal of the sliding/tilting

sunroof drive, the system needs to be conditioned to ensure that

the sliding/tilting sunroof works correctly.

– Switch on ignition and close doors; also close sliding roof if

open.

– Pull operating switch for sliding/tilting roof and hold in this po‐

sition for 10 seconds.

♦ During the entire programming run, the operating switch for

the sliding/tilting roof must remain in the pulled position.

♦ The programming run is thus completed.

Removing pre-selector control for slid‐

ing/tilting sunroof

Removing

– Release connector -arrow- and disconnect.

– Release locking lugs -arrows- and remove preselector control

for sliding/tilting roof from mounting frame.
