9. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY 

a. Install the roof headlining (see INSTALLATION ).  

10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

11. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 

a. Check the SRS warning light (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).

NOTE:

Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see 
INITIALIZATION ).

REMOVAL 

1. REMOVE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )  

2. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SWITCH 

a. Disconnect the 2 connectors.  

b. Detach the clamp.

c. Remove the 7 screws and lighting housing (upper side).

d. Detach the 4 claws and remove the sliding roof switch.

INSPECTION 

1. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF SWITCH 

a. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. 

Standard resistance  

SLIDING ROOF SWITCH RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

1 (UP) - 5 (E)

TILT switch is pressed to up

Below 1 ohms

1(UP) - 5 (E)

TILT switch is not pressed to up

10 kohms or higher

2 (DOWN) - 5 (E)

TILT switch is pressed to down

Below 1 ohms

2 (DOWN) - 5 (E) TILT switch is not pressed to down 10 kohms or higher

4 (OPN) - 5 (E)

SLIDE switch is pressed to open

Below 1 ohms

4 (OPN) - 5 (E)

SLIDE switch is not pressed to open 10 kohms or higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the switch. 

INSTALLATION 

1. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SWITCH 

a. Attach the 4 claws to install the sliding roof switch.

b. Install the lighting housing (upper side) with the 7 screws. 

3 (CLOSE) - 5 (E)

SLIDE switch is pressed to close

Below 1 ohms

3 (CLOSE) - 5 (E) SLIDE switch is not pressed to close 10 kohms or higher
