INSPECTION PROCEDURE 

1. PRESS "EJECT" AND CHECK OPERATION 

a. Press the CD eject switch in the display for 2 seconds or more and check that the CD ejects.

OK: CD ejects.  

NG: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS 
TABLE  

OK: Go to Next Step  

2. REPLACE CD WITH ANOTHER AND RECHECK 

a. Replace the CD with a normal one and check that the CD ejects. 

OK: CD ejects.  

NG: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS 
TABLE  

OK: CD IS FAULTY  

CD CANNOT BE INSERTED OR IS EJECTED RIGHT AFTER INSERTION 

INSPECTION PROCEDURE 

1. CHECK IF PROPER CD IS INSERTED 

a. Make sure that the CD is an audio CD or a CD with a MP3 or WMA file, and that the CD is not 

deformed, flawed, stained, burred or otherwise defective. 

OK: CD is a normal audio CD.  

HINT: 



Translucent or uniquely-shaped CDs cannot be played.

Commercial audio CDs can be played.  



CD-DA files on CD-ROMs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs can be played.  



MP3 and WMA files on CD-ROMs, CD-Rs and CD-RWs can be played.  



For details on playable CDs, refer to the Owner's Manual .  

NG: CD IS FAULTY  

OK: Go to Next Step  

2. CHECK THAT CD IS INSERTED PROPERLY 

a. Check whether or not the CD is inserted upside down. 

OK: CD is properly inserted.  

NG: INSERT CD PROPERLY  

OK: Go to Next Step  

3. CLEAN CD 

a. Clean the disc by wiping the CD's underside radially with a soft cloth.

OK: Malfunction disappears.  

NG: Go to step 4  

OK: CD WAS DIRTY  

4. REPLACE CD WITH ANOTHER AND RECHECK 

a. Replace the CD with a normal one and check if the same problem occurs again. 

NOTE:

Do not use a conventional record cleaner or antistatic preservative.

CD SOUND SKIPS 

INSPECTION PROCEDURE 

1. CLEAN CD 

a. If the disc is dirty, clean the disc by wiping the CD's underside radially with a soft cloth.

OK: Malfunction disappears.  

NG: Go to step 2  

OK: CD WAS DIRTY  

2. REPLACE CD WITH ANOTHER AND RECHECK 

a. Replace the CD with a normal one and check if the same problem occurs again. 

OK: Malfunction disappears.  

NG: Go to step 3  

OK: CD IS FAULTY  

3. CHECK WHEN PROBLEM OCCURS 

a. Check the location in which CD skipping occurs. 

NOTE:

Do not use a conventional record cleaner or antistatic preservative.

4. CHECK NAVIGATION RECEIVER INSTALLATION 

a. Check the installation condition of the navigation receiver. 

OK: Installed properly.  

NG: INSTALL NAVIGATION RECEIVER PROPERLY  

OK: Go to Next Step  

5. INSTALL NAVIGATION RECEIVER IN ANOTHER VEHICLE OF SAME MODEL AND 

COMPARE 

a. Remove the navigation receiver and install it in another vehicle of the same model. Check if the CD 

sound skips. 

OK: CD sound does not skip.  

NG: Go to step 6  

OK: MALFUNCTIONS MAY NOT BE PRESENT  

6. DID TEMPERATURE IN CABIN CHANGE RAPIDLY? 

a. Check whether or not a rapid temperature change occurred in the cabin. 

OK: Rapid temperature change occurred.  

HINT: 

A rapid temperature change creates condensation inside the CD player, which may disable CD 
playback. 

NG: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS 
TABLE  

OK: CONDENSATION DUE TO TEMPERATURE CHANGE (LEAVE AS IS FOR A WHILE 
BEFORE USING)
