2. REMOVE FRONT N0. 2 LOWER ARM BUSH LH 

a. Using a chisel and hammer, pry the flange of the bush outward.

b. Using SST, remove the bush.

3. REMOVE FRONT N0. 1 SPRING BUMPER LH 

a. Remove the No. 1 spring bumper from the vehicle.

INSPECTION 

1. INSPECT FRONT N0. 1 SUSPENSION ARM LOWER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

a. As shown in the illustration, move the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times before installing the 

nut.  

b. Using a torque wrench, turn the nut continuously at a rate of 3 to 5 seconds per turn and take the 

torque reading on the fifth turn. 

Standard turning torque:  

3.0 to 10.0 N*m (31 to 102 kgf*cm, 27 to 89 in.*lbf)

c. Check for any cracks and grease leaks on the ball joint dust cover.  

REASSEMBLY 

1. INSTALL FRONT N0. 1 SPRING BUMPER LH 

a. Install the No. 1 spring bumper to the vehicle. 

Torque: 31 N*m (316 kgf*cm, 23 ft.*lbf)  

2. INSTALL FRONT N0. 2 LOWER ARM LH 

a. Using SST and a press, press in a new bush.

3. INSTALL FRONT N0. 1 LOWER ARM BUSH LH 

a. Using SST and a press, press in a new bush. 

NOTE:

Press the bush while making sure the bush positioning protrusions 
are perpendicular to the lower arm, as shown in the illustration.

4. INSTALL FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ATTACHMENT LH 

a. Install the attachment with the nut and a new cotter pin. 

Torque: 167 N*m (1703 kgf*cm, 123 ft.*lbf)  

INSTALLATION 

HINT: 



Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.  



The procedures listed below are for the LH side.  



A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (see SPECIFIED TORQUE 
FOR STANDARD BOLTS ).  

1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT N0. 1 SUSPENSION ARM LOWER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

a. Install the lower suspension arm with the camber adjusting cam, No. 2 camber adjusting cam, No. 2 

toe adjusting plate, toe adjusting cam, bolt, nut and washer.  

b. Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 camber adjusting cam and No. 2 toe adjusting plate. 

NOTE:

If the holes for the cotter pin are not aligned, tighten the nut further 
up to 60°.
