b. Install the 2 fuel pressure pulsation dampers to the fuel delivery pipes.

2. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER COVER 

a. Install the 2 fuel pressure pulsation damper covers with the 4 bolts. 

Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

3. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER CAP 

a. Install the 2 fuel pressure pulsation damper caps.

4. INSTALL NO. 3 ENGINE COVER  

5. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  

6. CONNECT VENTILATION HOSE 

a. Connect the ventilation hose.

7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )  

8. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )  

9. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK (See INSTALLATION )

REMOVAL 

1. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY 

a. Remove the fuel tank (See REMOVAL ).  

2. REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )  

3. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY 

a. Using SST, loosen the retainer.

SST 09808-14020  

HINT: 

Fit the tips of SST onto the ribs of the retainer. 

b. Remove the retainer.  

c. Remove the fuel suction with pump and gauge tube assembly from the fuel tank. 

d. Remove the gasket from the fuel tank.  

4. REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )  

5. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )  

INSPECTION 

1. INSPECT FUEL PUMP 

a. Inspect the resistance of the fuel pump. 

1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. 

Standard Resistance  

RESISTANCE REFERENCE 

NOTE:



When the retainer is loosened, be careful as the fuel suction 
with pump and gauge tube assembly will spring upward from 
the force of the spring.  



Remove foreign matter around the fuel suction with pump and 
gauge tube assembly before this operation.

NOTE:

Be careful not to bend the arm of the fuel sender gauge.
