SMART WIRING SYSTEM (SWS) USING SWS MONITOR

NOTE: 

Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check interme-
diate connectors C-17 <LH drive vehicles>, C-110 
<RH drive vehicles>, D-04, and repair if necessary.

• Check the communication lines for open circuit.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 14.

NO : 

Repair the wiring harness.

Step 14. Retest the system.
After the rear power window sub switch (RH) is 
replaced, check that the rear right door power win-
dow can be operated by the power window sub 
switch.
(1) Replace the rear power window sub switch (RH).
(2) Check that the rear right power window works by 

means of the power window main switch.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

The trouble can be an intermittent 

malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 

− How to 

Cope with Intermittent Malfunction 

P.00-5

).

NO : 

Replace the power window main switch.

Step 15. Connector check: E-05 power window 
main switch connector

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 16.

NO : 

Repair the connector.

Step 16. Check the wiring harness from E-05 
power window main switch connector terminal 
No.11 to the inserted probe.

NOTE: 

Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check interme-
diate connectors C-17 <LH drive vehicles>, C-110 
<RH drive vehicles>, D-15, and repair if necessary.

• Check the communication lines for open circuit.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 19.

NO : 

Repair the wiring harness.

Step 17. Connector check: E-08 rear power 
window sub switch (LH) connector

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

Go to Step 18.

NO : 

Repair the connector.

Step 18. Check the wiring harness from E-08 rear 
power window sub switch (LH) connector 
terminal No.6 to the inserted probe.

Step 19. Retest the system.
After the rear power window sub switch (LH) is 
replaced, check that the rear left door power window 
can be operated by the power window sub switch.
(1) Replace the rear power window sub switch (LH).
(2) Check that the rear left power window works by 

means of the power window main switch.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES : 

The trouble can be an intermittent 

malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00

).

NO : 

Replace the power window main switch.
