Q

Fogging up of the windows

O

The windows will easily fog up when the

humidity in the vehicle is high. Selecting

“A/C” will dehumidify the air from the

outlets and defog the windshield effec-

tively.

O

If you turn “A/C” off, the windows may

fog up more easily.

O

The windows may fog up if the recircu-

lated air mode is used.

Q

When driving on dusty roads

Close all windows. If dust thrown up by the

vehicle is still drawn into the vehicle after

closing the windows, it is recommended

that the air intake mode be set to outside air

mode and the fan speed to any setting

except off.

Q

Outside/recirculated air mode

O

Setting to the recirculated air mode tem-

porarily is recommended in preventing

dirty air from entering the vehicle interior

and helping to cool the vehicle when the

outside air temperature is high.

O

Outside/recirculated air mode may

automatically switch depending on the

temperature setting or the inside tem-

perature.

Q

Operation of the air conditioning sys-

tem in Eco drive mode

O

In Eco drive mode, the air conditioning

system is controlled as follows to priori-

tize electricity consumption efficiency

• Motor speed and compressor operation

controlled to restrict heating/cooling

capacity

• Fan speed restricted when automatic

mode is selected

O

To improve air conditioning perfor-

mance, perform the following operations

• Turn off eco air conditioning mode

(

P.349)

• Adjust the fan speed

• Turn off Eco drive mode

Q

When the outside temperature is low

The dehumidification function may not

operate even when “A/C” is selected.

Q

Ventilation and air conditioning odors

O

To let fresh air in, set the air conditioning

system to the outside air mode.

O

During use, various odors from inside

and outside the vehicle may enter into

and accumulate in the air conditioning

system. This may then cause odor to be

emitted from the vents.

O

To reduce potential odors from occur-

ring:

• It is recommended that the air condition-

ing system be set to outside air mode

prior to turning the vehicle off.

• The start timing of the blower may be

delayed for a short period of time imme-

diately after the air conditioning system is

started in automatic mode or pollen

removal mode.

Q

WARNING

Q

To prevent the windshield from fog-

ging up

Do not use the windshield defogger

switch during cool air operation in

extremely humid weather. The difference

between the temperature of the outside

air and that of the windshield can cause

the outer surface of the windshield to fog

up, blocking your vision.

cally turn off after a period of time.

Q

Eco air conditioning mode

When Eco drive mode is selected using the

air mode.
Pollen is removed from the air and the air

flows to the upper part of the body.
Usually the system will automatically turn

off after a period of time.
In order to prevent the windshield from fog-

dehumidification function may operate or

the outside/recirculated air mode may not

switch to recirculated air mode.

Pollen is filtered even if pollen removal

mode is turned off.

Q

nanoe™ X

*1

This vehicle incorporates a biocidal prod-

uct.
Ionised air generated by a device incorpo-

rated in the vehicle purifies the air in the

cabin by suppressing bacteria.
Active substances: Free radicals generated

in situ from ambient air or water.
nanoe™ helps to provide purified air by

emitting electrically charged water parti-

cles through the side vent on the driver’s
side

*2

.

O

When the fan is turned on and nanoe™

on the option control screen is selected,

the nanoe™ X is activated.

O

When the fan is operated in the following

conditions, system performance will be

maximized. If the following conditions are

not met, performance will be limited.

• The ,

or

air

outlets

are

being used.

• The side vent on the driver’s side is open.

O

When nanoe™ is generated, a small

amount of ozone is emitted and may be

faintly smelled in some situations. How-

ever, this is approximately the same as

the amount that already exists in nature,

such as in forests, and it has no affect on

the human body.

O

A slight noise may be heard during oper-

ation. This is not a malfunction.

*1

: nanoe™ X is a nanoe™ generator.

nanoe™ and the nanoe™ mark are trade-
marks of Panasonic Corporation.

*2

: According to temperature and humidity

conditions, fan speed and direction of
the air flow, the nanoe™ system may not
operate at full capacity.

automatic mode for functions other
than that operated is maintained.

Q

Using automatic mode

Fan speed is adjusted automatically

according to the temperature setting and

the ambient conditions.

Therefore, the fan may stop for a while until

warm or cool air is ready to flow immedi-

ately after the automatic mode switch is

pressed or “AUTO” is selected.
Cool air may blow around the upper body

even when the heater is on due to sunlight.

Q

Windshield fog detection function

When automatic mode is set, the humidity

sensor detects fog on the windshield and

controls the air conditioning system to pre-

vent fog.

WARNING

Q

To prevent burns (vehicles with wind-

shield wiper de-icer)

Do not touch the glass at lower part of

the windshield or to the side of the front

pillars when the windshield wiper de-icer

is on.

Q

nanoe™ X

Do not disassemble or repair the gener-

ator because it contains high voltage

parts. Contact any authorized Lexus

retailer or Lexus authorized repairer, or

any reliable repairer if the generator

needs repair.

NOTICE

Q

To prevent damage to the nanoe™ X

Do not insert anything into the side vent

or use sprays around it. These things may

cause the generator not to work prop-

erly.

Q

Operation of automatic airflow control

O

In order to maintain a comfortable inte-

rior, airflow may be directed to seats

without passengers immediately after the

EV system is started and at other times

depending on the outside temperature.

O

After the EV system is started, if passen-

gers move around inside or enter/exit

the vehicle, the system cannot accurately

detect the presence of passengers and

automatic airflow control will not oper-

ate.

Q

Operation of manual airflow control

Even if the function is manually switched to

directing airflow to only the front seats,

when a rear seat is occupied, it may auto-

matically direct airflow to all seats.

Q

Windshield defogger

When defogging the windshield using the

Remote Air Conditioning System, defog-

ing set temperature.

Remote Air Conditioning
System

The Remote Air Conditioning Sys-

the traction battery and allows the
air conditioning to be operated by

Q

While the Remote Air Conditioning

System is operating

O

Depending on the operating condition of

the Remote Air Conditioning System, the

electric fan may spin and an operating

noise may be heard.

However, this does not indicate a mal-

function.

O

The Remote Air Conditioning System

may stop operating temporarily if other

features that use electricity (for example,

the seat heater, lights, windshield wipers)

are in operation or if the charge level of

the 12-volt battery becomes low.

O

The headlights, windshield wiper, meter,

etc. will not operate.

O

The intrusion sensor will automatically be

canceled.

WARNING

Q

Precautions for the Remote Air Con-

ditioning System

O

Do not use the system if people are in

the vehicle.

Even when the system is in use, the

internal temperature may still reach a

high or low level due to features such

as the automatic shut-off. Children and

pets left inside the vehicle may suffer

heatstroke dehydration or hypother-

mia, or could result in death or serious

injury.

O

Depending on the surrounding envi-

ronment, signals from the wireless

switch may transmit further than

expected. Pay appropriate attention to

the vehicle’s surroundings and use the

switch only when necessary.

O

Do not operate “A/C” if the hood is

open. The air conditioning may oper-

ate unintentionally and objects may be

drawn into the electrical cooling fans.

NOTICE

Q

To prevent the traction battery from

being discharged through incorrect

operation

Use “A/C” only when necessary.
