Engine - TD4 2.2L Diesel - Cylinder Head

Removal and Installation

Removal

• NOTE: The valve cover and cylinder head is machined as an assembly and cannot be serviced separately.

Remove the cover and disconnect the battery ground cable.

WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle

stands.

Raise and support the vehicle.

Remove the exhaust manifold.

Refer to:

Remove the camshafts.

Refer to:

Remove the thermostat.

Remove the RH engine mount.

CAUTION: Note the fitted position of the

component prior to removal.

WARNING: This step requires the aid of

another technician.

Discard the bolts.

13. CAUTIONS:

 Note the thickness of the gasket removed.

 The gasket thickness is identified by the number

of holes (1 to 4) at either of the locations shown.

is removed for access only.
