6 . Tighten to 7 Nm.  

 

 

 

 

Starter Motor - 2.7L V6 - TdV6 (86.60.01)   

Removal  

 

1 . Disconnect the battery ground cable.  

For additional information, refer to Battery Disconnect and Connect  

 

 

2 . Remove the air deflector.  

For additional information, refer to Air Deflector (76.11.41)

Make sure the alignment mark on the steering gear pinion seal protection cover is central to 

the steering gear pinion casting.  

 

 

 

4 . Disconnect the power steering control valve actuator electrical connector. 

 

 

 

5 . Detach the lower steering column.  

  

 

Remove the steering gear shaft pinch bolt.

6 . Detach the steering gear.  

  

 

Remove the steering gear retaining bolts.

 

 

 

 

 

7 . Using a suitable piece of string secure the steering gear. 

 

 

 

8 . Remove the generator cooling duct.  

 

 

 

9 . Remove the starter motor retaining bracket. 

 

 

 

10 . Detach the starter motor positive cable.  

 

 

 

11 . Reposition the starter motor positive cable.
