6 1. Turn OFF the ignition. 2. Disconnect the DIC switch connector. 3. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the signal circuit of the suspect 4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. 5. With a scan tool, observe the suspect DIC Switch parameter. Does the scan tool display ON for the suspect Go to Step 10 Go to Step 8 7 Test the signal circuit of the suspect DIC switch Go to Step 14 Go to Step 11 8 Test the signal circuit of the suspect DIC switch Go to Step 14 Go to Step 11 9 Test the ground circuit of the DIC switch for an Go to Step 14 Go to Step 10 10 Inspect for poor connections at the harness Go to Step 14 Go to Step 12 11 Inspect for poor connections at the harness Go to Step 14 Go to Step 13 12 Replace the DIC switch. Refer to Steering Go to Step 14 - 13 Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Panel Go to Step 14 - Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
