Removal and Installation 

Removal 

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details. 

1. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-

01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General 
Procedures). 

2. Remove the following items: 

1. Refer to: Throttle Body (303-04 Fuel 

Charging and Controls - 2.5L Duratec-ST 
(VI5), Removal and Installation). 

2. Right-hand headlamp. 

Refer to: Headlamp Assembly (417-01A, 
Removal and Installation). 

3. Refer to: Lifting (100-02, Description and 

Operation).

5. Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt (303-05 Accessory 

Drive - 2.5L Duratec-ST (VI5), Removal and 
Installation).

CAUTION: Make sure that the inside of 

the pipe ends are clean and free of oil 
residue.

Installation

WARNING: Be prepared to collect 

escaping fluid. 

CAUTION: Make sure that all openings 

are sealed. Use new blanking caps. 
NOTE: The O-ring seal is to be reused unless 
damaged. 

Torque: 

23 Nm 

13. Torque: 10 Nm

NOTE: Install all the bolts finger tight before 
final tightening. 

1. Torque: 15 Nm 
2. Torque: 25 Nm
