Make certain that the retainer of the input shaft ball bearing 
is placed in the groove of the transmission housing. Remove 
the cable ties.

Apply sealant centrally on the transmission mating 
face and past the threaded holes on the inside (bead 
diameter: 3 mm). 

Material: 

Flange Sealant - Anaerobic LR (WSK-

M2G348-A5 / 2U7J-M2G348-AA)

 

Ensure that the threaded holes are free of sealant.

37. Install the following items: 

Tighten the transmission housing bolts in two stages, 
working diagonally. 

Torque: 

32 Nm 

Install a new halfshaft seal. 

Special Tool(s): 

205-115

CAUTION: Cover the input shaft splines with 

adhesive tape to avoid damaging the input shaft oil 
seal. 

Install a new input shaft oil seal. 

Special Tool(s):

39. Remove the adhesive tape from the input shaft splines.

40. Install the following items: 

1. Transmission housing retaining bolts 

Torque: 

32 Nm 

2. Clutch slave cylinder 

Torque: 

11 Nm 

3. Install a new halfshaft seal. 

Special Tool(s): 

205-115

 

41.   

Apply sealant centrally on the mating face and past 
the threaded holes on the outside (bead diameter: 3 
mm). 

Material: 

Flange Sealant - Anaerobic LR (WSK-

M2G348-A5 / 2U7J-M2G348-AA)

 

Ensure that the threaded holes are free of sealant.

42.   

1. Ensure that no 

gear is 
engaged.

2. Ensure that 

the selector 
mechanism is 
in the neutral 
position.

3. Install the shift 

mechanism.

Torque: 

4. Install new 

input shaft 
bearing 
retainer bolts.

Torque: 

5. Remove the 

transaxle from 
the mounting 
stand.

grease.

4. Perform this and the following operation 

simultaneously. 

Torque: 

48 Nm
