Y1 CHECK IGNITION SWITCH STATES

Use New Generation STAR (NGS) Tester to monitor the PID

GO to Y2.

IGN GEM while turning the ignition switch through the START, RUN,

OFF and ACC positions.

Do the PID values agree with the ignition switch position? No = REFER to Section 417-02 of

Y2 RETRIEVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCs)

Monitor the PID DRAJR L. 

Yes =

REPLACE the GEM;

REFER to the 2001 Ranger

Workshop Manual. CLEAR

the DTCs.

Toggle the active command AJAR LAMP ON and OFF. 

No =

If the PID DRAJR L reads

•

Does the PID DRAJR L read OFF--- when the active command is

OFF O-G, GO to Y4.

OFF and read ON--- when the active command is ON?

If the PID DRAJR L reads

ON -B-, GO to Y8.

Y4 CHECK INSTRUMENT CLUSTER

With key OFF, disconnect instrument cluster C215.

GO to Y5.

With key OFF, measure the resistance between instrument cluster printed

CHECK the door ajar

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Instrument Cluster —Postal Ranger EV

Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the auxiliary battery ground cable.

2. Remove the eight instrument panel screws.

3. Remove the bolt, disconnect the gear indicator

cable and position aside.

4. NOTE: Only four connectors are shown. 

Disconnect all of the electrical connectors and
remove the instrument cluster.
