14. Reverse the output shaft in the press.

15. Install first gear bearing sleeve (2) on output shaft

with Installer 8228 (1) and a shop press.

16. Install first gear and blocker assembly (2) onto

output shaft (1).

17. Install first gear bearing over the output shaft and

into first gear.

18. Install output shaft thrust washer (2) onto output

shaft (1).

19. Install rear output shaft bearing (2) onto output

shaft with Installer 8228 (1) and a shop press.

20. Install a new snap-ring to hold the rear output

bearing onto the output shaft. Install the thickest
snap-ring which will fit into the groove.

21. Reverse output shaft in the Fixture 8227 and sup-

port the shaft with press blocks under first gear.

22. Install sixth gear bearing (2) and sixth gear (1)

onto output shaft.

23. Install the sixth gear friction cone onto sixth gear.

24. Install sixth gear blocker ring (1) over the sixth

gear friction cone (2).

25. Install Guide 8235 (1) onto output shaft (2) end.

26. Install 5-6 synchro (2) over Guide 8235 and onto

the output shaft.

27. Press 5-6 synchro onto the output shaft with

Installer 8156 (1) and a shop press.
