Installation Procedure

Notice :  Dissimilar metals in direct contact with each other
may corrode rapidly. Make sure to use the correct fasten-
ers to prevent premature corrosion.

1.  Install the driver knee bolster with the nut and the

bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the knee bolster nut to 22 N

S

m (16 lb–ft).

Tighten

Tighten the knee bolster bolts to 22 N

S

m (16 lb–ft).

2.  Install the left side instrument panel trim with the

bolts.

3.  Install the plastic knee bolster trim panel.

PASSENGER KNEE BOLSTER

Removal Procedure

1.  Remove the plastic knee bolster trim panel under

the steering column.

2.  Remove the bolts and the floor console forward trim

panels.

3.  Remove the right side kick panel. Refer to”Kick

Panel” in this section.

4.  Remove the glove box. Refer toSection 9E, Instru-

mentation/Driver Information.

5.  Remove the screws and the glove box housing.
6.  Remove the bolts and the right–side instrument

panel trim.

7.  Remove the audio system. Refer toSection 9F, Au-

dio Systems.

8.  Remove the bolts and the instrument panel lower

trim piece.

9.  Remove the passenger footwell upper cover. Refer

to”Footwell Upper Cover” in this section.

10.  Pull out the retaining clips and remove the passen-

ger knee bolster foam pad.

11.  Remove the bolts and the passenger knee bolster.

Installation Procedure

1.  Install the passenger knee bolster with the bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the knee bolster bolts to 22 N

m (16 lb–ft).

2.  Install the passenger knee bolster foam pad with

the retaining clips.

3.  Install the passenger footwell upper cover. Refer

to”Footwell Upper Cover” in this section.

4.  Install the instrument panel lower trim piece with

the bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the instrument panel lower trim piece bolts to
10 N

S

m (89 lb–in).

5.  Install the audio system. Refer toSection 9F, Audio

Systems.

6.  Install the right–side instrument panel trim with the

bolts.

7.  Install the glove box housing with the screws.

Tighten

Tighten the glove box housing screws to 4 N

m (35

lb–in).

8.  Install the glove box. Refer toSection 9E, Instru-

mentation/Driver Information.

9.  Install the right–side kick panel. Refer to”Kick Pan-

el” in this section.

10.  Install the floor console forward trim panels with the

bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the floor console forward trim panel bolts to
4 N

S

m (35 lb–in).

11.  Install the plastic knee bolster trim panel under the

steering column.
