Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect and isolate the Battery negative cable.
Disconnect the Ambient Temperature Sensor harness connector.
Disconnect the Overhead Console harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Ambient Temperature Sensor Signal circuit between
the Sensor connector and the Overhead Console connector.
Is the resistance above 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Ambient Temperature Sensor Signal circuit for an
open. NOTE: After any repair for an Ambient Temperature Sensor
problem, the vehicle must be driven for more than 2 minutes to
update the CTM display.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 4

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Ambient Temperature Sensor harness connector.
Disconnect the Overhead Console harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Ambient Temperature Sensor Signal
circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Ambient Temperature Sensor Signal circuit for a short
to ground. NOTE: After any repair for an Ambient Temperature
Sensor problem, the vehicle must be driven for more than 2
minutes to update the CTM display.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 5

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect and isolate the Battery negative cable.
Disconnect the Ambient Temperature Sensor harness connector.
Disconnect the Overhead Console harness connector.
Measure the resistance between the Ambient Temperature Sensor Ground circuit
and the Sensor Signal circuit.
Is the resistance below 10,000 ohms?
All
Yes
→ Repair the Ambient Temperature Sensor Signal circuit for a short
to the Sensor Ground circuit. NOTE: After any repair for an
Ambient Temperature Sensor problem, the vehicle must be driven
for more than 2 minutes to update the CTM display.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No
→ Go To 6
