Checking your vehicle
before us

Ÿ

Check the air-tightness of the lower

part of vehicle body including:

universal joint cover, steering wheel

cover, base plate, brake system,

clutch system and wheels

Ÿ

Check the following liquid level:

Engine coolant level

Washer fluid level

Engine oil level

Transmission oil

Power steering oil

Brake fluid level

Ÿ

Check battery’s voltage

Ÿ

Check tire pressure of each wheel

Ÿ

Check connetion and tightness of

each part, especial for transmission,

steering, brakes, suspension and

wheels.

Introduction

7

Ÿ

Check installation status of tire valve,

wheelhouse and fuse.

Ÿ

transmission system to see if they are

in good condition.

Ÿ

Check onboard tool kits and

document to see if they are ready for

use.

Break-in period

Due to mismacthining and misassembling,

the frictional resistance of transmission

part is always much greater in break-in

period than normal period. Proper use in

break-in period can extend service life,

increase stability and provide potential

economy. Therefore, the following

break-in rules must be complied with.

Break-in rules for the first
1000 km:

Ÿ

Do not drive at maximum speed.

Ÿ

Do not drive over 100km/h.

Ÿ

Do not use full throttle for any gear.

Break-in rules for the first
1000 km to 1500 km:

Ÿ

Increase your engine speed gradually

and drive at permitted maximum

speed

After break-in period:

The maximum speed is 6000 r/min for

short-time engine running. You must shift

up a gear when the needle of speed meter

Introduction

8

reaches red zone.

Maximum speed for each gear:

    Gear  1                      45  km/h

    Gear  2                    80  km/h

    Gear  3                    115  km/h

  Gear 4           155 km/h

  Gear 5           195 km/h

Avoid your engine running at

very high speed. Timely

shift-up is in favor of saving gasoline,

reducing engine noice and also is helpful

for protecting environment.

Do not operate your engine at very low

speed. Please shift down a gear when

engine is working strenuously.

Suggested rotational speed in manual only

applies to the engine working under

normal temperature. Do not operate at

maximum speed in any gear when engine

is cold.

New tires do not achieve their full traction

potential at the begining. Therefore,

break-in period is also necessary for new

tires. You should drive slowly with extra

caution during the first 100km.

Break-in period is also necessary for new

friction disc of the brake. During initial

200 km, the brake disc has not yet

achieved the optimum surface friction. In

this period, you can increase brake pedal

force if brake does not work as you expect.

Replacement of brake disc each time also

applies to this case.

You must screw wheel nuts to the correct

torque. The correct torque value refers to

“Technical data and specification” chapter

in this Owner Manual. You also need to

screw wheel nuts again if you ever

replaced your wheel or released your

wheel nuts after driving 800 km.

Wish you have an enjoyable and safe
driving experience with your Cherry.
