VII. Coded Fault Checklist

1. ABS Hydraulic Pump

Possible Cause

1. Fault Code 01276
[Description]
This code will be recorded by ABS ECU if motor malfunction is
found when vehicle speed exceeds 20km/h.
[Tip]
The fault may be caused by loose wire harness connection
between motor and ECU. Fault diagnoser may be used to drive
the motor to test hydraulic control unit function.

·

Power off or earthed

·

Loose motor wire harness

·

Damaged motor

Note: Overdischarged battery will not be able to drive the motor, therefore

battery voltage shall be measured before motor driving test. Motor driving test

shall be performed with vehicle being stationary.

Abnormal

Replace hydraulic control unit

Normal

Unplug motor wire harness and directly
connect battery power to motor plug, check
if the motor works

Abnormal

Replace fuse or wire harness

                        Normal

Replace ECU

No

Check fuse and ABS ECU adapter

Connect motor wire harness

Ignition switch “ON”

Clear fault code

Diagnose hydraulic control unit with diagnoser

Dose fault reoccur?

Yes

Refer to Incidental Fault Repair Instruction

2. Wheel Speed Sensors: 00283, 00285, 00290, 00287

Possible Cause

2 Fault Code 00283, 00285, 00290, 00287
[Description]
This code will be displayed when no open circuit is
detected while no signal is output with the vehicle speed
exceeding 20km/h.
[Tip]
The fault may be caused by missed sensor, short circuit of
sensor coil or wire harness, oversized air gap between
sensor and gear ring or damaged gear ring.

·

Sensor missed when assembling

·

Short circuit of sensor coil or wire

harness·

·

Oversized air gap between sensor

and gear ring·

·

Gear ring missed when

assembling

·

ABS ECU fault

No

Are sensors properly installed?

    Install properly

Yes             Abnormal

Normal

Replace ABS ECU

3. Speed Sensors

Possible Cause

3. Fault Code 00283, 00285, 00290, 00287
[Description]
This code will be displayed when sensor signal exceeds
tolerance limits with the vehicle speed > 20km/h.
[Tip]
The fault may be low signal caused by intermittent poor
contact or short circuit of sensor coil or wire harness,
damaged gear ring or oversize air gap between sensor and
gear ring.

·

Intermittent poor contact or short

circuit of sensor coil or wire
harness·

·

Oversized or undersized air gap

between sensor and gear ring

·

Damaged gear ring

·

ABS ECU fault
