Chapter Four   Rear Door

I. Disassembling and Assembling Rear Door

1. Before disassembling the rear door, remove

the decorative board first so that remove the elec-

trical connecting wires may be removed.

2. Loosen the fixing nuts of the bolt for holding the

lining with vehicle body.

3. Remove the electrical connections and the fixing

bolts between the door and the hinge on the front

pole. Another operator disassembles the door.

Place the front door on a flat surface and apply a

protection layer between the door and the contacting

area on the surface.

Assembling procedures for the rear doors are the opposite of the above and bear in

mind that tightening torque for the fixing bolts on the door is 56N`m.

II. Adjusting Rear Door

In case that longitudinal or transverse adjustment of the rear door is necessary, use

tools for internal hinge to loosen the hinged bolts

on the hinge with specified pressure, in a direction

parallel with the level. Loosening should be performed

in a slow way otherwise material fatigue may occur.

Don’t move the tools longitudinally for damage caused

by this can only be remedied through re-welding the

hinge. In order to avoid cracks on coating of vehicle,

coating wax should be used.

  Chery A15 Maintenance Manual

Tighten the bolts after adjustment with a tightening torque of 56N.m.

Note: After closing the door, keep the door sealed with the sealing strips around the

opening of the door. If there aren’t any holes on the sealing strips to allow air in, or

the door can not be closed or opened due to improper pressure when closing it.

Remove any of the following parts with the door guard plate being first removed and

proceed according to the instructions in “Interior Lining and Decoration”.

III. Disassembling and Assembling Waterproof Coating

Before disassembling any parts, first remove the

waterproof coating, the lock handle and the

fixing clamp.

Be sure to apply the waterproof coating in a correct

way during assembling. Keep waterproof coating

adhering to the top, side and bottom. In this way

water can flows out and will be kept from leaking into vehicle or damaging door

board.

IV. Disassembling Internal Door Handle

The internal door handle is fixed on the internal

door board through its own structure and screws.

Remove the screws, hold the internal door handle

and push it forward to disassemble it.

V. Disassembling and Assembling Door Lock

Disassembling the lock assembly

1. The lock is fixed on the door frame with two

fixing screws, as is shown by the arrows in the figure.

  Chery A15 Maintenance Manual

2. Disassemble the lock device by removing the

fixing clamp between control device and the lock

device.

The manual locking device and the connecting lever

on the installing position of the door lock motor are

coupled with the same clamp.

VI. Disassembling External Door Handle

Disassemble the fixing bolt between the handle and

the door frame. Shake the handle forward and

remove it when it reaches a angle of 90

º

.

There shouldn’t be any rust, fouling or wear on the

lock arms and the control device. Check if the

external door handle and the corresponding lock

body is in good condition.

VII. Disassembling Central Door Lock

Loosen the fixing screws between the central door

lock and the door frame. Disengage the stem com-

pletely from the lock clamp. Remove the cables and

the servo motor.

Assembling procedures for the door parts are the

opposite of disassembling procedures.

VIII. Adjusting Striker Plate

In case that the door can’t be normally closed

because of fault adjustment of the striker plate,

readjust position of the strike plate. The adjustment

operation is to loose the striker plate with a 15mm

wrench and move the striker plate according to the

requirements.
