Back up Circuit
('00 - 01 model) The scan tool indicates Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0560: Low Voltage in PCM Back up
Circuit.
NOTE: If the BACK UP RADIO (7.5 A) fuse is removed and the ignition switch ON (II), MIL will report on and PCM will store
the DTC P0560.
— The MIL has been reported on
— DTCP0560
Problem verification:
1. Do the PCM Reset Procedure.
2. Start the engine.
Is DTC P0560 indicated?
YES
Intermittent failure, system is OK
at this time. Check for poor con-
nections or loose wires at BACK
UP RADIO (7.5 A) fuse and PCM.
Check the fuse:
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Inspect the BACK UP RADIO
(7.5 A) fuse in the under-hood
fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse OK?
NO
YES
— Repair short in the wire
between the ECM (D1) and
BACK UP RADIO (7.5 A) fuse.
— Repair short in the wire the
other back up circuit (see
Power Distribution).
— Replace the BACK UP RADIO
(7.5 A) fuse.
PCM CONNECTOR D (22P)
Check for an open in the wire
(VBU line):
Measure voltage between the
PCM connector terminal D1 and
body ground.
Wire side of female terminals
Is there battery voltage?
YES
Repair open in the wire between
PCM (D1) and BUCK UP RADIO
(7.5 A) fuse.
Substitute a known-good PCM
and recheck (see page
11-42
for
immobilizer information). If symp-
tom/indication goes away, replace
the original PCM.
