8. Install the cover in the reverse order of removal, and to prevent wrinkles, make sure the material is 

stretched evenly over the pad before securing the hooks strips and fastener.  

REAR SEAT HEAD RESTRAINT COVER/PAD REPLACEMENT 

1. Remove the head restraint (see REAR SEAT HEAD RESTRAINT REPLACEMENT ).  

2. Unzip the head restraint cover (A), pull it back, and remove it.

3. Separate the double-sided adhesive tapes (A), then remove the head restraint pad (B) and head 

restraint pad molding (C) from the head restraint frame (D).

4. Scrape off the remaining double-sided adhesive tape from the head restraint frame, then clean its 

surface with a sponge dampened in alcohol.  

5. Install the cover and pads in the reverse order of removal. 

NOTE:

Take care not to tear the seams or damage the seat covers.

4. Check for a plugged fuel filter (see FUEL 

PRESSURE REGULATOR 
REPLACEMENT ).  

5. Check the throttle body (see THROTTLE 

BODY TEST ).  

6. Check for low engine compression (see 

ENGINE COMPRESSION INSPECTION ).  

7. Check for a damaged or broken timing belt.  

 

Engine is hard to start

1. Check for PGM-FI DTCs.  

2. Check the fuel pressure (see FUEL 

PRESSURE TEST ).  

3. Check for a plugged or damaged fuel line (see 

FUEL LINE INSPECTION ).  

4. Check for a plugged fuel filter (see FUEL 

PRESSURE REGULATOR 
REPLACEMENT ).  

 

Engine cranks slowly

1. Check for loose battery terminals or 

connections.  

2. Test the battery for a low charge (see

3. Check the starter for binding (see STARTER

4. Check for excessive drag in the engine.
