Exterior rear-view mirrors   

Disassembly/assembly 

of 

electric/ 

manual rear-view mirrors 

1. 

Disconnect the negative cable of battery ; 

2. 

Remove  the 

front 

door  trim  panel; 

(See——Trim Panel, Disassembly/Assembly 
of Trim Panel of Front Door) ; 

3. 

Remove the corner window trim panel; 

4. 

Disconnect the connection of connector; 

5. 

Remove the nut and then exterior mirrors; 

6. 

Install  as  per  the  reverse  order  with  that  of 
removal. 

 

 

Removal  of  exterior  electric/manual 
rear-view mirrors   

1. 

Wear gloves and protective goggles; 

2. 

Push the upper end of rear-view mirror; 

3. 

Pull  the  lower  end  of  rear-view  mirror, 
loosen  the  clamp  and  remove  the  holder  of 
rear-view mirror lens from the outer frame. 

 

 

 

 

 

Mounting  of  exterior  electric/manual 
rear-view mirrors   

1. 

Wear gloves and protective goggles; 

2. 

Insert  the  outer  frame  of  holder  with  the 
rear-view mirrors and fit the lower clamp; 

3. 

Compress  the  holder  with  the  rear-view 
mirror  lens  onto  the  outer  frame  and  fit  the 
upper clamp. 

 

 

 

Check  of  exterior  electric  rear-view 
mirrors   

Disconnect  the  plug  connection  of  exterior 
electric 

rear-view 

mirrors

Charge  the  positive  voltage  of  battery  onto  the 
exterior  electric  rear-view  mirror  and  check  its 
performance.

Check, with an ohmmeter, the continuity between 
two  pins  A  and  B  outside  the  electric  rear-view 
mirrors.

 

 

Check, with an ohmmeter, the continuity between 
two  pins  C  and  D  outside  the  electric  rear-view 
mirrors.

 

 

If inconsistent with the specified state, replace the 
exterior electric rear-view mirrors

Removal of Interior rear-view mirror   

1. 

Insert  a  flathead  screwdriver  wrapped  with 
tape,  between  the  rear-view  mirror  and 
pedestal. 

2. 

Push  the  pedestal  pin,  and  remove  the 
rear-view mirror. 

 

Mounting of interior rear-view mirror   

● 

Insert the rear-view mirror into the pedestal; 

 

Removal of pedestal of interior rear-view 
mirror   

1. 

Remove the rear-view mirror; 

2. 

Wind the handle with both ends of string. 

Attention: 

● 

When  cutting  sealant  with  a  piano  string, 
a complete piece of string shall be used  to 
prevent breakage 

3. 

Saw  the  sealant  and  dismount  the  pedestal. 
When sawing, the saw shall be drawn out, so 
that sawn points are uniformly distributed on 
each  section  of  SST  (piano  string),  and  the 
tool won’t be broken. 

 

Mounting of rear-view mirror pedestal   

1. 

Scrape the original sealant with a blade; 

2. 

Clean the ceramic membrane on the pedestal 
and glass and remove grease thereon. 

Caution:   

● 

No  oil  stains  and  dust  are  allowed  on  the 
joint  surface.  Hands  off  the  primer 
surface,  otherwise  no  good  joint  will  be 
achieved. 

3. 

Apply  primer  on  the  joint  positions  of 
pedestal  and  glass.  For  the  glass,  the 
application  of  glass  primer  is  only  allowed. 
On  the  pedestal,  only  the  use  of  bodywork 
primer  is  allowed.  Let  the  coating  dry  about 
30min. 

4. 

Smear  on  the  pedestal,  the  repair  sealant  in 
thickness of 3.0mm {0.12in}. 

 

5. 

Place  the  pedestal  in  the  center  of  ceramic 
coating and then press it on the glass. 

 

6. 

Use unleaded gasoline to clean the excess of 
repair sealant.

Check of heating wire   

1. 

Place the ignition switch in the ON position; 

2. 

Turn  on  the  switch  of  rear  windshield 
defroster. 

Caution:   

● 

Direct  contact  of  the  test  terminal  of 
circuit  test  instrument  with  the  heating 
wire  of  rear  windshield  defroster  may 
damage  the  heating  wire.  You  should 
wrap the test terminal with aluminum foil, 
through which the test shall  be made with 
the heating wire. 

 

3. 

Connect  the  positive  (+)  of  voltmeter  with 
the  positive  of  heating  wire,  with  the 
negative (-) grounded. 

4. 

Slowly  slide  the  tested  positive  terminal 
from  the  positive  to  the  negative  while 
checking  the  voltage.  Confirm  that  there 
shall  be  an  appropriate  decrease  in  the 
voltage.

5. 

If incorrect, or the change of voltage too fast, 
it  indicates  that  there  are  problems  in  the 
heating wire, replace the heating wire. 

 

 

Repair of heating wire   

1. 

Clean  with  unleaded  gasoline,  the  damaged 
part of heating wire; 

2. 

Paste  the  tape  on  the  upper/lower  damaged 
parts of heating wire. 

 

3. 

Use  a  brush  or  marker  pen  to  coat  silver 
powder  or  similar  coating  on  the  heating 
wire for reparation; 

4. 

In about 2—3min, carefully remove the tape, 
keep it away from the repaired part. 

Caution:   

● 

Do  not  use  the  rear  windshield  defroster 
before  the  paint  is  dried,  otherwise  it  will 
result in accident. 

5.    Heat  continuously  with  hot  air  dryer  for 

30min until the temperature reached up to 
150℃  {302℉}  or  the  paint  dried  at 
25℃{77℉}  for  24hrs  until  completely 
dried. 

 

Disassembly/assembly of rear windshield 
defroster  relay  (the  pictures  of  this  part 
cannot  be  applied  as  the  fuse  box  has 
been amended) 

1. 

Disconnect the negative cable of battery; 

2. 

Remove  the  front  trim  panel  at  the  driver 
side; 

3. 

Disconnect the relay plug connection of rear 
windshield defroster.

4. 

Slide  forward  the  rear  windshield  defroster 
relay and remove it; 

5. 

Install  as  per  the  reverse  order  with  that  of 
removal.   

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Check of rear windshield defroster relay   

1. 

Remove  the  rear  windshield  defroster  relay 
(See——Disassembly/Assembly  of  Rear 
Windshield Defroster Relay) 

2. 

Check,  with  an  ohmmeter,  the  continuity 
between the pins of rear windshield defroster 
relay. 

 

 

3. 

If  inconsistent  with  the  specified  state, 
replace the rear windshield defroster relay.

Prior  to  use  of  a  scraper,  wear  gloves, 
otherwise it will result in injury. 

Attention: 

● 

The windshield molding is replaceable. 

6. 

Cut  off  with  a  scraper,  the  flanges  of 
windshield molding.

   

 

 

When  the  windshield  is  not  reused 
anymore 

1. 

Remove  the  pedestal  (See——Rear-view 
mirrors, Removal of Pedestal) 

Attention: 

● 

If  it  is  difficult  to  remove  the  sealant  of  a 
certain  component,  use  a  piano  string  as 
shown  in  Fig.,  according  to  the  steps  as 
indicated “When the Windshield is Reused”. 

2. 

Use  the  tool  as  shown  in  Fig,  and  insert  its 
lame into the sealant; 

3. 

Draw the tool along the edge of glass; 

4. 

Remove the windshield. 

 

When the windshield is reused 

1. 

Pierce through the sealant with an awl from the 
interior  to  exterior  and  drill  a  small  hole 
(except the fixer) 

 

Warning: 

● 

Wear  gloves  during  use  of  piano  string, 
otherwise it will result in hand injury. 

2. 

Pass  the  SST  (piano  string)  through  the  small 
hole.  Bind  both  ends  of  piano  string  on  the 
handle.

Attention: 

● 

When  cutting  sealant  with  a  piano  string,  a 
complete  piece  of  string  shall  be  used  to 
prevent breakage. 

3.    Working with  another person, cut sealant along 

the edge of glass. 

 

4. 

Remove the windshield; 

5. 

Remove the damping strip; 

6. 

Remove the fixer; 

7. 

Remove the pad A. 

 

Mounting of windshield   

Warning: 

● 

In  use  of  a  scraper,  wear  gloves  to  prevent 
hand injury. 

Caution:   

● 

To  prevent  the  sealant  scratch,  or  glass 
pushed  out  when  the  doors  closed,  all 
windows  shall  be  opened,  until  the  sealant 
hardened. 

1. 

Cut  old sealant on the windshield frame by  use 
of  blade  and  save  a  layer  in  thickness  of  ca 
1—2mm.  If  completely  removing  the  sealant 
on  some  part,  a  layer  of  primer  shall  be 
smeared  after  the  grease  removed,  and  let  it 
dried  for  30min,  and  then  smear  again  new 
sealant to form a layer in thickness of 2mm. 

 

2. 

Clean  the  marginal  band  in  width  of  50.0mm 
along  the  connection  between  the  front 
windshield and bodywork. 

3. 

Stick  a  damping  strip  along  12.0mm  away 
from the upper edge of front windshield. 

 

4. 

Place the pad A into the hole; 

5. 

Install  the  front  windshield,  adjust  the 
clearance between the glass and bodywork 

6. 

Mark on the glass above V-groove ; 

7. 

Be  sure  that  the  clearance  of  both  upper  and 
side edges of glass is 5mm.

8. 

Remove the front windshield; 

9. 

As  shown  in  Fig.,  install  the  fixer  at  the  mark 
position of glass. 

 

10.  As  shown  in  Fig.,  install  the  fixer  on  the 

bodywork. 

 

Attention: 

● 

No  oil  stains  and  dust  shall  exist  in  the 
bonding  part.  No  hand  touch  is  allowed  on 
the  surface  or  underlying  material  to 
prevent  inferior  bonding  effect  on  surfaces 
of  glass  and  bodywork  that  shall  result  in 
water leakage. 

11.  Smear  the  primer,  with  a  brush  on  the  mating 

parts  of  pedestal  and  glass.  The  glass  primer 
shall  be  applied  on  the  glass.  The  bodywork 
primer is  only applicable to    the pedestal,  and 
let the coating dry for about 30min. 

12.  Smear  around  a  layer  of  sealant  to  fill  up  the 

clearance between the damping strip and glass. 
The  thickness  of  sealant  is  14.0mm  and  the 

width 8.0mm. 

 

13.  Align  the  mark  on  the  glass  with  V-groove  of 

pad A, and install the glass on the vehicle; 

14.  Push inward the glass to compress the sealant; 

15.  Scrape off, the spilled sealant, with a scraper; 

16.  Clean  the  excess  sealant  with  unleaded 

gasoline;

Removal of rear windshield glass   

1.    Remove

When the rear windshield is not reused 

Be cautious: 

● 

If  it  is  difficult  to  remove  the  sealant  of  a 
certain  component,  use  a  piano  string  as 
shown  in  Fig.,  according  to  the  steps  as 
indicated “When the Windshield is Reused”. 

1. 

Use  the  tool  as  shown  in  Fig,  and  insert  the 
string into the sealant; 

2. 

Draw  the  tool  around  the  glass  to  cut  the 
sealant. 

 

3. 

Remove the rear windshield. 

 

When the rear windshield is reused

 

1. 

Pierce  ,  through  the  sealant  with  an  awl  from 
the  interior  to  exterior  and  drill  a  small  hole 
(except  the  places  where  the  fixer,  joint  and 
pad A are available) 

 

 

2. 

Pass  the  SST  (piano  string)  through  the  small 
hole. 

Warning: 

● 

Wear gloves in use of piano string, otherwise 
it will result in hand injury, thus gloves must 
be worn in use of the piano string; 

 

3. 

Wind both ends of string on the handle. 

Attention: 

● 

When  cutting  sealant  with  a  piano  string,  a 
complete  piece  of  string  shall  be  used  to 
prevent breakage. 

4. 

Working  with  another  person  to  cut  sealant 
along  the  edge  of  glass.  Be  cautious  not  to 
scratch the bodywork. 

 

5. 

Remove the rear windshield glass.   

6. 

Remove the locking block and fixer.

Mounting of rear windshield     

Warning: 

● 

Wear  gloves  in  use  of  scraper  to  prevent 
injury. 

Caution:   

● 

To  prevent  the  sealant  scratch,  or  glass 
pushed  out  when  the  doors  closed,  all 
windows  shall  be  opened,  until  the  sealant 
hardened. 

1. 

Before  use  of  blade,  cut  old  sealant  on  the 
windshield  frame  and save  a  layer in  thickness 
of  ca  1—2mm.  If  completely  removing  the 
sealant on some part, a layer of primer shall be 
smeared  after  the  grease  removed,  and  let  it 
dried  for  30min,  and  then  smear  again  new 
sealant to form a layer in thickness of 2mm. 

2. 

Clean  the  marginal  band  in  width  of  50.0mm 
along  the  connection  between  the  front 
windshield and bodywork.   

3.  Stick  damping  strips  1  and  2  along  12.0mm 

away from the upper edge of front windshield. 

 

 

 

4. 

Fit the locking block into the hole; 

5. 

Install  temporarily  the  glass  on  the  bodywork 
and adjust  the  clearance between the  glass  and 
bodywork; 

6. 

Mark  on  the  glass  above  the  locking  block 
V—groove; 

7. 

Confirm  that  the  clearance  of  upper  edge  is 
6mm and the lateral clearance 5mm. 

 

8. 

Remove the rear windshield; 

9. 

As  shown  in  Fig.,  install  the  fixer  on  the 
bodywork; 

 

10.  As  shown  in  Fig.,  fit  the  fixer  and  locking 

block on the glass (mark on the glass). 

 

Caution:   

● 

No  oil  stains  and  dust  exist  on  the  work 
positions.  No  hand  touch  is  allowed  on  the 
surface to prevent inferior bonding effect on 
surfaces  of  glass  and  bodywork  that  shall 
result in water leakage. 

11.  Smear  the  primer,  with  a  brush  on  the  mating 

parts  of  pedestal  and  glass.  The  glass  primer 
shall  be  applied  on  the  glass.  The  bodywork 
primer is  only applicable  to    the pedestal,  and 
let the coating dry for about 30min. 

12.  After the primer dried, smear around the barrier

gaps.  The  thickness  of  sealant  is  14.0mm 
{0.55in} and the width 8.0mm {0.31in}. 

 

13.  Align  the  mark  on  the  glass  with  V-groove  of 

pad A, and install the glass on the vehicle; 

14.  Push inward the glass to compress the sealant; 

15.  Confirm  that  the  clearance  of  upper  edge  is 

6mm and the lateral clearance 9mm.

10.  Remove the R/L side panels;   

11.  Disconnect the connection of EM harness plug; 

12.  Disconnect  the  wire  between  the  blower  and 

heater unit (See U——Disassembly/ Assembly 
of A/C Control Unit) 

13.  Disconnect  the  plugs  of  fuse  and  middle 

harnesses; 

 

14.  Remove  the  middle  hole  cap  above  the 

dashboard; 

15.  Remove the bolt; 

 

Warning 

l  It  is  dangerous  to  dismount  the  dashboard. 

The  dashboard  is  likely  to  drop  down  and 
hurt  you.  Thus,  work  together  with  at  least 
one 

person 

when 

dismounting 

the 

dashboard. 

16.  Remove the dashboard from the vehicle; 

(1)    Slowly incline forward the dashboard; 

(2)    Lift the dashboard while it is inclined forward; 

(3)    Remove  the  dashboard  through  the  front  door 

of occupant side; 

 

17.  Install as per  the reverse  order  with that  of the 

removal.

Remove the screw; 

2. 

Hold  the  lower  end  of  combination  instrument 
cover and draw out forcibly the snaps.   

 

3. 

Install  as  per  the  reverse  order  with  that  of 
removal.   

 

Disassembly/assembly  of  radio  player 
panel 

Disassembly

:   

1. 

①Insert a flathead screwdriver the slit of lower 
part  of  A/C  controller,  rotate  the  screwdriver 
and two snaps below the lower panel will come 
off. ② Hold with hands both sides of panel and 
force it outward to  loosen  out the upper snaps. 
Pull out the panel;   

 

2. 

Take  out  by  use  of  a  Phillips  screwdriver  4 
screws of A/C controller lock, and then pull out 
the  rear  connector  and  remove  the  A/C 
controller;   

3. 

①Grasp  with  hands  two  lugs  below  the  HI-FI 
panel,  and  force  it  outward  to  disengage  the 
snaps  HI-FI  panel;  ②  hold  with  hands  both 
sides of panel and force it outward to disengage 
the  snaps  of  upper  panel.  Finally  pull  out  the

the panel;

Take  out  with  a  Phillips  screwdriver,  4  screws 
locking  the  HI-FI  host,  and  then  draw  out 
slightly  the  host,  pull  out  two  connectors 
behind  the  host,  and  then  take  out  the  HI-FI 
host;   

 

Precautions to removal: 

1. 

The  HI-FI  includes  single  CD  and  CD+GPS 
with  the  methods  of  assembly/disassembly 
basically  same,  where  there  are  two  additional 
plugs  behind  the  CD+GPS  host,  please  pay 
attention by disassembly;   

2. 

Be  cautious  that  the  shift  lever  handle  may  be 
scratched.  Thus  it  is  best  to  set  the  gloves  on 
the shift lever handle;   

3. 

When removing the A/C controller panel, insert 
the  flathead  screwdriver  from  the  slit  of  the 
lower  panel  instead  of  lateral  panel,  otherwise 
the  trace  of  screwdriver  will  be  visible.  In 
addition,  apart  from  this  part,  no  use  of  any 
hard  objects  such  as  screwdriver  is  allowed  to 
pry plastic parts during the whole process.

Be careful  of  damage on the HI-FI surface and 
screen,  thus  please  gently  operate  when  the 
removal carried out;   

5. 

To take  out the connector, please press first the 
latch  then  pull  it  out,  do  not  directly  draw  it 
apart, otherwise it will damage the connector;   

6. 

Please  keep  properly  in  a  safe  place  as  the 
removed  HI-FI  and  A/C  controller  assemblies 
are heavier;   

7. 

During  the  dismounting  process,  try  to  avoid 
direct  force  on  the  air  duct  (See  4  in  the  first 
Fig.) and damage on the blades. 

 

Assembly:   

1. 

Insert all connectors behind the HI-FI  host and 
A/C controller;   

2. 

Prior  to  contain  the  HI-FI  and  A/C  controller 
assemblies into the dashboard, it is proposed to 
check  whether  all  are  operating  (HI-FI  and

Install the HI-FI host and fix the screws 

4. 

Insert  the  wiring  connector  behind  the  HI-FI 
panel, and align the panel snap with the slot on 
the  dashboard,  knock  clockwise  the  snaps  into 
the panel from the left upper corner; 

5. 

Fit the A/C controller and fix the screws;   

6. 

Fit  the  A/C  controller  panel  and  knock 
clockwise the snaps into the panel from the left 
upper corner; 

7. 

Reset the ashtray. 

 

Disassembly/assembly

Push  out  the  snap  A  from  the  back  of

Push down the upper end of lower baffle and loosen 
the snaps A and B on the dashboard;

Hold the lower baffle and loosen the hook C.

Install  as  per  the  reverse  order  with  that  of

Disassembly/assembly of sundries bin   

1. 

Bend inward the fixer and remove it; 

 

2. 

While  pushing  the  sundries  bin,  turn  it 
downward,  and  then  remove  the  mounting  pin 
A (1); 

3. 

Remove the sundries bin; 

 

4. 

Install  as  per  the  reverse  order  with  that  of 
removal;
