ENGINE
Oil temperature sensor The oil temperature sensor is screwed into the oil pump body. Type of maintenance: Line Personnel qualification: Independent certifying staff qualified in accordance
with Part-66 or higher. Recommended tools, materials, persons and documentation: ITEM QUANTITY Wrench 12 1 pc Pliers 1 pc Maintenance Manual (Line Maintenance) for Rotax Engine - Persons 1 Tab. 77-4 Recommended tools, materials, persons and documentation WARNING ENGINE IGNITION MUST BE SWITCHED OFF. DISCONNECT CARELESS DRAINING OF HOT ENGINE OIL MAY CAUSE (1) Oil temperature sensor removal: (a) Make sure that the IGNITION switches are set to OFF . (b) Make sure that the MASTER SWITCH is set to OFF . (c) Remove the engine cowlings (Chapter 71-10). (d) Disconnect negative terminal of battery (Chapter 24-30). (e) Disconnect wire (6, Fig. 77-5) from sensor (4). (f) Remove sensor (4) and ground wire (5) from the engine fitting. (g) Install protective plug on the engine fitting. (2) Oil temperature sensor installation: (a) Make sure that the IGNITION switches are set to OFF . (b) Make sure that the MASTER SWITCH is set to OFF . (c) Remove protective plug from the engine fitting. (d) Install sensor (4, Fig. 77-5) with ground wire (5) to the engine fitting. (e) Connect wire (6) to the sensor (4). (f) Check if sensor is firmly secured and sealed. (g) Connect negative terminal of the battery (Chapter 24-30). (h) Carry out engine ground test; check oil system for leaks and oil system indication. (i) Install the engine cowlings (Chapter 71-10).
