INSTALLATION 

1. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL PAD 

a. Install the brake pedal pad onto the brake pedal.

2. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

a. Install the brake pedal support with the 4 nuts. 

Torque: 15 N*m (155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)  

b. Install the No. 3 brake pedal bracket to the brake pedal support.

c. Temporarily install the brake pedal support, No. 3 brake pedal bracket and brake pedal lever with 

the bolt and nut.

d. Install the bolt to the No. 3 brake pedal bracket. 

Torque: 18 N*m (184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf)

e. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the inner surface of the hole on the brake pedal and return 

spring mounting bracket of the No. 3 brake pedal bracket.  

f. Install the brake pedal return spring.  

g. Tighten the bolt and nut. 

Torque: 23 N*m (239 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf)  

3. INSTALL PUSH ROD PIN 

a. Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the inner surface of the hole on the brake pedal lever.  

b. Set the push rod clevis in place, insert the push rod pin from outside the vehicle and then install a

new clip. 

4. INSTALL STOP LIGHT SWITCH MOUNTING ADJUSTER 

a. Install the stop light switch mounting adjuster (see INSTALLATION ).  

5. INSTALL STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

a. Attach the harness clip.  

b. Install the stop light switch (see INSTALLATION ).  

c. Connect the stop light switch connector.  

6. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

a. Install the air duct with the bolt.

7. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD INSERT (See INSTALLATION )  

8. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (See 

INSTALLATION )  

9. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH (See INSTALLATION )  

10. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (for Regular Cab) (See INSTALLATION )  

11. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (for Double Cab) (See INSTALLATION )  

12. CHECK BRAKE PEDAL HEIGHT (see ADJUSTMENT )  

13. CHECK PEDAL FREE PLAY (see INSTALLATION )  

14. CHECK PEDAL RESERVE DISTANCE (see INSTALLATION )  

15. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

16. CHECK MASTER CYLINDER PRESSURE SENSOR SIGNAL 

a. Check the sensor signal (see TEST MODE PROCEDURE ).  

NOTE:

After assembly, check that the pedal operates smoothly.

NOTE:

Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (see 
INITIALIZATION ).
